Видях, че сте изтривали блокове, че сте добавили несъществуваща река, както и парк Покемон. Това се счита за вандализъм и е вече премахнато.

При все това сте добре дошъл да допринесете към картата. Например, може да обозначите на колко етажа е сградата, в която живеете. Или пък дали всички входове на блока, където живеете (ако има такива), са правилно обозначени. Или пък магазините във Вашия квартал дали отговарят на настоящата действителност и т.н.

You marked the whole street as two-way because it was flagged as an "impossible one-way", but it seems to me it's only the small stub at the northwest end of the street that cannot be oneway, not the whole street, unless I'm misunderstanding?

Не съм съгласен с това, което казвате.

С абсолютна сигурност тагът "lit" не е незначителен, нито излишен, а и не се използва само в София. Има си уики страница: ( lit=* ); 2 милиона обекта използват този таг ( http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/?key=lit ), из целия свят( http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/?key=lit#map ).

Тази информация е от изключително значение в паркове: например софтуери за навигация могат да го използват и да не пращат пешеходци и колоездачи по неосветени алеи през нощта. Вярно е, че този таг в момента не съществува на всички места, но това е още в процес на работа (подобно на целия проект ОСМ). Целта е разбира се тагът да се добави навсякъде, където е релевантен. Аз лично обикалях из парковете в София и си водих бележки кои места са осветени, кои не, така че сега изтрихте часове работа!

Разбирам, че използвате визуализатора OsmAnd. Струва ми се, проблемът се дължи не на таговете, а на самия визуализатор. Ако информацията не се визуализира хубаво, това в никакъв случай не означава да се трие вярна и полезна информация. Това, което правите, е tagging for the renderer.

Ако искате, може Вие да възстановите информацията, но съм съгласен аз да го направя.

Забелязах, че използвате Bing за очертаване на контурите на сградите. Но според GPS следи изображенията на Bing са с няколко метра неточни.

Съветвам Ви да иползвате изображенията на Mapbox (натистнете "b" в прозореца за редактиране). Тези изображения са и по-нови.

I think you might be using Bing imagery for your edits. I recommend using Mapbox instead, it's a bit more blurry but it's more recent, and, more importantly, Bing is off by several metres.

Hit "b" in the editor to change the imagery background.

For what it's worth, 67% of entrance=staircase nodes have a ref=* tag -- see http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/entrance=staircase#overview -- so it does seem to be widespread.

I think the biggest piece of work will be adding the actual entrance letters to the map. After that, a systematic retagging isn't too hard if we decide e.g. to use "name" instead of "ref", or to add all addr:* tags to the entrance node, etc. The biggest piece of work is to just add the information in the first place.

I understand your "what's the point" sentiment. I would argue that there is long-term benefit in adding values that aren't rendered today, because after all, renderers and search engines look at what tags are in use when they decide what to handle. And they evolve all the time.

But adding values that aren't currently used is a lot of work, with little immediate reward, so it's not much fun.

What do they do in other Bulgarian cities? We should probably ask for opinions on the forum, I'm sure others have thought about this before.

I think Nominatim knows about "ref" on entrances? I see mentions of it here: osm.wiki/Nominatim/TestCases

Searching for "ж.к. христо смирненски, бл.74" works in Nominatim, but "христо смирненски, бл.74" doesn't. I added sorting_name to the suburb nodes (because Nominatim can't be expected to know that "ж.к." is a generic prefix in Bulgarian), but it doesn't seem to help.

I'm happy to help with retagging, but I don't have time to survey the whole city to get entrance names, and I don't know of an acceptable open data source that would list them. We're not allowed to use the cadastre as it's copyrighted. Do you know a good, open data source that gives entrance letters?

It's worth keeping in mind also that address tagging works a bit differently in Russia. They don't have addresses with "ж.к". But they do often have labelled entrances.

I would much prefer keeping separate values in separate tags, and avoid putting both block number and entrance letter in the same string. The chances that generic software products will parse that correctly are quite low, no?

My reasoning was that to adhere to the principle of "One feature, one OSM element", the block would hold all addr:* tags (addr:housenumber + addr:place in the case of blocks with a ж.к. address), and then the entrance node would hold only entrance=* and the entrance letter (as ref=* I guess). That way the address is not duplicated, i.e. there will not be 7 objects with the same addr:housenumber. The relationship between the entrance and the building is still obvious since the entrance node is part of the building way. What do you think?

PS I do speak Bulgarian but it's a big effort for me to write it well (I'm not Bulgarian), which is why I use English :) But feel free to write in Bulgarian if you prefer.

think we have a well established way of tagging them yet.

Personally I've been using addr:* tags on the building only, and then
entrance=staircase+ref=* on the entrance node. See e.g. way/166205046

I see you added int_ref=* as
well, probably a good idea.

I finally went to Borisova Gradina today to check, and I realise that I owe you an apology!

Even after reading your explanations, I thought that these were not physical footpaths, that they were just informal routes between the trees. But I checked, and these are real footpaths. And so, they're a very valuable addition to the map. Apologies for saying they should be removed -- they shouldn't.

Would you object to removing the name "cruising", though? That's not the actual name of the paths -- they have no name as far as I know.

And just to be clear, I would be proud to help the LGBT community in Sofia, and I'm always happy when our map is useful to someone, whoever they are.
