I created an account just to state that the changes discussed here are the worst logic I've seen. With all due respect but they are not motorways. It would be a motorway if it only connected to a motorway, but it does not. Please follow common logic and osm wiki when making changes. The tags that were before your changes illustrate that.
But if we accept your changes than let's make every road in Cyprus a motorway, just because it will eventually connect to a motorway.
