I walked the route just the other day; the asphalt stops several meters short of the existing break out points, but today I noticed that the break out is actually moving further up the road so it WILL join properly to the shared path rather than road. There are some so-called accommodations to be completed, fencing, a gate moved, so guessing it will be a little time before the new section is assessed by Sustrans before it is renamed. I have asked the Cycling officer at the council for an update. Interestingly this new shared use path doesn't have planning permission yet, the Tarmac approach!
