| 57190309 | almost 8 years ago | The difference between a footway and a pedestrian street is the scale and the importance. A footway as defined by the osm wiki is "used for mapping minor pathways which are used mainly or exclusively by pedestrians” and the requirements are "To map a footway nothing else than a simple way is required. Add the highway=footway tag to it and add a name=* if appropriate.”
A pedestrian street is higher profile and serves more purposes than just walking. The wiki defines it as "A highway=pedestrian is a road or an area mainly or exclusively for pedestrians in which some vehicle traffic may be authorized.”
The pedestrian streets in Cali serve more purpose than just a sidewalk. They have names and are the streets that people use to access their homes. |
