Well, I do like me a conspiracy theory sometimes, so it could be my socket puppets. Or it could be that we travelled together and it's sufficient if one does the editing for everyone else. Or it could be that I ask other mappers to review my change to get feedback whether I interpret common practice and our "rules" wrong, especially when someone with a longer OSM editing history and better local knowledge reverts one of my changes.

Which brings me to the point that I feel I have to reiterate that my changes are not to piss you or anyone else off but to improve the map. I do value you reviewing them and keeping an eye on Bruxelles in general as long as it also allows me to learn about possible mistakes and local conventions such as the dot in x.yyy numbers. And I did e.g. meanwhile also find a way to add missing switch nodes at the right position even when "out in the wild" mapping with only the mobile phone at hand.

Indeed, I wanted to map my line 55 ride today and was unpleasantly surprised that you simply reverted my change silently.

I do not really need to tell you that the OSM principles say "map what's on the ground", "do not map objects if they do not exist currently" and, yes, also "don't map temporary features".

However "temporary" is defined as weeks or months, not a whole year. STIB-MIVB themselves have removed the track and even placed the crossover such that the western platform at Tilleui - Linde is currently not fully usable, that's a verifiable fact and I can even upload a photo of the current situation somewhere if desired.

I would agree with you if the change were only for some weeks or months. But here we're talking about a longer, persistent change also affecting at what platform people can get off and on the tram: the eastern one only. So strictly speaking one could even consider marking the western use and currently not in use. Other mappers would even go as far as marking the entire section up to Paix - Vrede as construction:rail=tram but that's beyond the scope of the change at hand here.

So please undo your revert, thank you.

Because it's still hard to hit the right positions on a mobile device. I will review all my Brussels changes and address the FIXMEs later when back at the laptop.

alleen, dat ik het goed versta: het gaat om de volgoorde van de tram platforms in de twee relaties voor de twee rijrichtingen? Dus had ik met iD in volgoorde van de rijrichting van Tram 3 een tram platform achter elkaar eerin gezet, dan was get geen probleem geweest?

Ik kan echter ook JOSM eens uitprobeeren en kijken, of ik het goed kan zetten, het is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling dat andere achter met op moeten ruimen.

Also adding the tags takes time and being stressed while dealing with Vespucci, quickly adding the info, AND other switches passing by can really be stressful 😀

In some cases I collected the numbers over time, but usually I only manage to decipher one or two switches unless they're numbered logically as in Luxembourg. In Belgium however it's pretty random. Well, yes, of course there is a system but I can't usually predict the number (the A or B is easy).

Haha, very funny! I was in IC 440, now I'm in IC 3217 looking out of the window and trying to recognize the writings on the switches as the train hopefully doesn't drive too fast past them! I tried video recording but it's often too distorted, so it's just my eyes which get worse and worse. Also Infrabel's new switches don't have visible numbers anymore, at least not easily discoverable when passing by.

Weird, I checked this driver cab video https://youtu.be/3r1YRVn8yfM?si=PNU6FEHJkmq1Yfvo&t=1542 and it seems it has indeed be razed, meaning that northern platform is only accessible from the east.

Thanks for reaching out, that's indeed a mistake. It's just a bit to remember after four months what the current state was when I was there, but I think it's not razed but actually another platform towards Göteborg. I'll check sources the next days.
