Hey Habi,
ah, you're right, I've now added the "access=private" tags, also for some older pools further south (also added a new pool).

Hi rodri776, thanks for your contribution and welcome to OpenStreetMap! I see you requested a review for the changes you made, so I had a look.

There's a long street that you (maybe unintentionally) changed from a "unclassified road" to a "path": way/106766606/history

I've changed it back to "unclassified" because there's an important distinction: paths are not meant to be used by cars. This street does connect several villages though and cars should be able to use it. You can find more info on how to map different types of streets in the project description of the HOT task (https://tasks.hotosm.org/projects/15468/tasks)
or in much more detail on the Wiki (highway=*).

Thanks again for joining OpenStreetMap and happy mapping!

All the best,
Paul

Source note is note/3821541. The linked note in the source tag is something else entirely.

Salut d_berger

Paul

katpatuka I mean, I somehow really butchered that...

Hi kaputaka

Quick question about this natural=water (way/1041074018) and the dam next to it (way/1041074019): I coulnd't find any aerial imagery that still shows water or a dam here, but then Esri World, Bing and Mapbox all have the same imagery here anyways. I usually use Maxar here and was wondering, could it be that this water and dam don't exist anymore? Would be great to have your input on that.

All the best,
Paul

Absolutely, it can give more detailed info than having only the landuse.

Hi fedoroff net,
thanks for mapping.

These buildings look like the same building copypasted multiple times. That's unfortunately not an accurate representation of what we see in the aerial imagery. It's also more work to correct the map now compared to starting from an empty map.

Since you are using JOSM, do you know the Building Tool plugin? I find it very useful to add many buildings, also with more complex shapes. You can find some info on how to use it here: https://learnosm.org/en/josm/josm-more-plugins/

Let me know if you need any help, I'm always happy to share what I have found out so far.

All the best,
Paul

Ciao Giuseppe,
Paul

Hey Ruugie, hey Ivan

This is one of the public water dispensers found in many regions of Italy. In most cases, the water is free of charge and then I've most often seen them tagged as amenity=drinking_water. In this case here, the water costs 5 cents per liter.

The advantage of tagging as amenity=drinking_water is that they show up if you look for "drinking water" in OsmAnd for example, and the fee is specified with the "charge" tag. I was in the area looking for water and found this one by accident since I wouldn't usually look for vending machines on OsmAnd.

I find "vending_machine" to be more useful if there are several things sold (listed with the "vending" tag).

Since we have to choose between amenity=drinking_water and amenity=vending_machine, I personally find drinking_water to be more helpful to users.

What do you think? Do you see a better solution?

All the best,
Paul

Good idea, I added the alt_name now. There's also already a separate node for the nonprofit that runs the space at node/9200018580.

Thanks for your help! I added the separate ramp in iD now and edited the stair tags, does that look right to you?

Hi. Thanks for the heads up and for fixing it for me! I'll have an eye on it from now on.

Hi, thanks for asking. There is a wheelchair ramp east of the stairs that has been there at least since 2008. It's visible on the right side of this Mapillary image, behind the bike racks: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=40.672827067779&lng=-73.968603297468&z=17&pKey=308941964020823&focus=photo
The ramp itself has not been mapped yet.
My changeset comes from Streetcomplete where I answered "Yes" to the question if there is a ramp and "No" to the question if the ramp is mapped as a separate way. How should mappers and Streetcomplete ideally handle this case where there's additional work to be done? Automatic assigning of "fixme"?

The sign on the front reads "826NYC'S BROOKLYN SUPERHERO SUPPLY CO. & YOUTH WRITING CENTER" but the name used on their website is "Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co." (https://www.superherosupplies.com/pages/about-us), so the current name on OSM is correct.

Also slightly corrected ATM location.
