Most of the "highways" in this area are actually just paths, which theoretically could be used by cars, but the people living here generally don't have one. The neighbourhood is characterised by great poverty. People walk here.

In recent years, many people without local knowledge have often entered "roads" (HOTOSM mappers are particularly bad), so it has proved useful to map the routes as "service roads" (although "paths" would often be more appropriate) so that at least there is no permanent need for corrections.

If you have the opportunity to visit the Informal Settlements, you will realise that all the mappers working here can live with the "Service Road compromise".

That's great that you live in Windhoek and can contribute local knowledge to OpenStreetMap. Maybe I can get your understanding for the differences in the entries I am concerned about: OSM distinguishes between the tags for suburb (place=suburb) and neighborhood (place=neighbourhood) or quarter (place=quarter). This classification is more correct and also makes the maps in OSM more readable. Kind regards!

I think that Wikipedia is not correct here. There is the page "List of constituencies and suburbs of Windhoek" (Liste der Wahlkreise und Stadtteile Windhoeks / https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Wahlkreise_und_Stadtteile_Windhoeks), unfortunately only in german, which Chtrede created in 2018. Something comparable does not exist yet, to my knowledge (unless you could find something at the municipality of Windhoek).

What is your source? Friends of mine who live there accept the area as a neighborhood/quarter, but it is not a suburb. Have you ever been there or can you imagine the conditions under which people live there?

Hi JikJola, why do you change the names of the (official) suburbs as well as some neighborhoods in Windhoek? The residential areas (registered by many volunteers) are indeed not always compliant but that's why the tags for suburb and neighborhood were created (various mapper over many years). If you want to name concrete sources for your suggestions, please make them known, indicating the availability. Kind regards!
