Thank you, SHARCRASH. So what lesson can I learn from this? That I should use whatever is on the wiki, except if it's something exotic? How do I know what is "exotic"?

Dear SHARCRASH,

I'm afraid your comment reads a bit like an insult, which I hope wasn't what you intended and which definitely isn't the kind of spirit we need on a collaborative site like OSM. I see all of us OSMers as partners working together on the common goal of a better map and you could have used this occasion to share your knowledge about OSM's best practices with a less experienced user like me. Instead, you wrote a rant. To be honest, I didn't even understand the first part of it - who do you mean by 'we', for example, and what exactly is it you didn't like?

As for the type of gate, I was obviously concerned to select the best possible value and did read through the wiki page on barriers extensively (barrier=*). If you had done so as well, you would have found a picture of a wicket gate (yes, it's spelled with a 't') that really looks very much like the one I saw in Beaufort last November. The definition describes it like this: "A wicket gate, or simply a wicket, is a pedestrian door or gate, particularly one built into a larger door or into a wall or fence." The definition of a swing gate, on the other hand, talks about a much bigger thing usually made of metal bars and says it's intended to prevent cars from access. Not very fitting.

Now, if there are reasons that override what's written on the wiki and that you as a seasoned OSMer know about and I don't, I'm obviously always eager to learn. And I'm even more eager if the knowledge is shared in a friendly, encouraging and collaborative manner.

Sorry, I simply assumed from the barriers and signs on both ends that the entire track was under construction. What does the crossable part look like currently? Would removing the construction tag on this small part in the middle reflect reality and solve the problem? Or do you actually have to cross a construction site, in which case linking the loose ends with an additional foot path would probably be the right thing to do?

Hi, it seems this changeset modified the Road Route "Autoroute de Dudelange" (A3) to cover the full length of RGTR line 300, i.e. also part of the A1, part of the French A31, some streets in Kirchberg as well as in Thionville plus bus stops. Could you please have a look at how this can be corrected? Thanks a lot in advance!

Merci fir deng Äntwert! Fir mech ass dat heiten een "tram stop" an ech géif et esou taggen wéi et op osm.wiki/Trams#Tram_stops steet. Mä den User Lyon-St-Clair huet eise ganzen Tram op "light rail" mat iwwerall "railway=station" ëmgestellt an hie schéngt sech do vill besser auszekennen ewéi ech Newbie. Ech wëll also elo keen Edit War ufänken. Fir mech ass et nëmme wichteg, dass alleguerten d'Arrête gläich ugewise ginn. Wéi gesoot: Ech kenne mech do guer net gutt aus.

Kéints du do vläicht nach eng Kéier dropkucken? Merci!

Sorry, I agree that wasn't very informative. I added missing street names.
