| 137140211 | over 2 years ago | Further update: Apparently conceding that I was wrong and trying to inform others not to make the same mistake as me is a bannable offense. Cool, good to know for future refrence. |
| 137140211 | over 2 years ago | Update: I have found that the sign for Chernobyl has indeed been updated to the Ukrainian transliteration, so as per the "on the ground rule", I have no issue with the spelling remaining as "Chornobyl", as long as "Chernobyl" is added as an alt name. |
| 137140211 | over 2 years ago | I will stop editing in Ukraine (excluding Crimea, reasoning below) not because of the wishes of Mykhailo Poliakoff, who you erroneously refer to as the entirety of the local mapping community, but because I don't have the time or energy to deal with annoying xenophobic nationalists. After what he said to me, I lost all respect for Mykhailo, and I do not care how he feels or what he has to say. I have had no past issues during my long history editing in Crimea, and I'm sincerely hoping you're not trying to create one. As such, I see no issue in adding missing English names in Crimea and updating broken tags, unless the local (Crimean) community has any objections.
I would appreciate communicating with an uninvolved DWG member moving forward. |
| 137146207 | over 2 years ago | This revert contains multiple issues. Firstly, you have no respect for the common English names for Chernobyl and Pripyat (yes, that's how they are spelled). It's not for Ukrainian nationalists to decide how English is spoken in a country that is quite literally erasing any other language than Ukrainian via their legal system. I find it quite odd that OSM can't use the common name because one mapper, who commonly used slurs and supports the death of children, has an issue with "Pripyat" and "Chernobyl" (again, the correct spelling). My edits were there for months until he noticed them on his crusade against anything that sounds Russian. It's also worth noting that unlike places like Kyiv, Chernobyl and Pripyat have not had their common spelling changed in English. Even Wikipedia, where the common spelling is used for the title and article, uses "Chernobyl" and "Pripyat". Secondly, you reverted some completely uncontroversial edits. I'm not allowed to capitalize letters now? Perhaps capitalizing letters draws the ire of Ukrainian nationalists? Please do explain, because I'm not seeing any good reason for that revert. |
| 137140211 | over 2 years ago | Okay, I will stop editing in Ukraine (excluding the RoC) because apparently you decide to have bias and support vandal Ukrainian nationalist editors who support genocide and try to erase anything that isn't supported by their views. I understand now, the DWG condones nationalists who want death and genocide of children. |
| 135015612 | over 2 years ago | This changeset has been reverted in whole as it seems to be purely advertising, in addition to erroneous changes to existing map features.

| 111264707 | almost 3 years ago | This relation is inappropriately tagged and most likely is not necessary to map. |
| 130980183 | almost 3 years ago | This changeset has been reverted as it incorrectly modifies the name:en tag and incorrectly removes the alt_name:en tag. Please be sure to follow NZ naming guidelines in the future when contributing.

| 125390909 | about 3 years ago | The Rural Municipality of Cornwallis should be tagged as "boundary=administrative" and not "boundary=aboriginal_lands" as it is not a First Nations reserve. |
| 129021681 | about 3 years ago | Hello, does this building exist? I can't see it on any satellite images. |
| 129951171 | about 3 years ago | You do not need to add a name to an item unless it actually has a name. |
| 129765303 | about 3 years ago | Yes, I have considered that. I'm not editing without doing any research whatsoever. It's quite obvious to me that different places have different naming customs. One thing to consider is that not all parts of the world on OSM are updated equally, so there's a good chance that you'll find something somewhere that has a depreciated tagging standard and that needs to be updated to match current tagging standards. |
| 129765303 | about 3 years ago | No, I wasn't asking why street types shouldn't be abbreviated. I am point out that on the two currently online sources you provided, everything except the name of the street is abbreviated. And that doesn't help determine whether or not the quadrant is abbreviated. As I said in my previous comment, I will check the currently offline source when it's back online. |
| 129765303 | about 3 years ago | Correction: Western Canada excluding British Columbia. |
| 129765303 | about 3 years ago | tastrax, according to someone I've been talking to, this is not a Canada-wide tagging issue, but mostly limited to Western Canada and the Prairie Provinces. I'm currently getting more info from that mapper. He's been quite helpful. |
| 129765303 | about 3 years ago | hoserab, I did check the links you sent. For the first link, I can't seem to find any mention that the quadrant must be abbreviated. Maybe I am missing something. The second link is currently down for nightly maintenance, so I'll check tomorrow. And the third link seems to abbreviate everything, including the street type suffix (Road, Street, Court, etc). |
| 118216060 | about 3 years ago | I found a map of neighbourhood speed limits from the City of Calgary here: https://mapgallery.calgary.ca/apps/c7640617a1f441b1abfe34fa58dab3e6/explore |
| 129733169 | about 3 years ago | Hello, is the bridge open again? If not, please revert the changes to the section that is being rebuilt. Здравствуйте, мост снова открыт? Если нет, верните изменения в раздел, который перестраивается.

| 129718513 | about 3 years ago | I don't have to immediately acknowledge anything you write to me. I have other things to do in my life. I did not stop participating in anything. That's a fiction you created because you don't see me replying every 30 minutes. You may not be arguing with me, but every comment you have left on my changesets, apart from the first comment, has had a rude tone. You also are under the misconception that just because I have not responded to your comments immediately, I am not acknowledging them. What I did do is create a separate relation for the reserve. This is consistent with other local nations and reserves. Each relation has the appropriate tags for the nation or the reserve. With that said, I'm done communicating with you. I'll continue to write to talk-ca and engage with the community, but I am done communicating with you personally. You have been nothing but rude in your comments. If you had been more diplomatic, perhaps we wouldn't be in this situation where we are now. Do not contact me any further. |
