Also if the offsets were consistent throughout then I could understand, but they aren't, some areas have an offset and others don't. If the whole course is consistent then regardless of the imagery being off it will be accurate as a whole when translated to simulator.

What was there is not accurate. I am only trying to make it more accurate to map out a golf course I have knowledge of to transfer to a be able to play on a simulator. I dont think it much matters who is the original author if what is there can be improved upon and made more true to life. If a recorded sandy area is not actually a sand area or if a wooded area is described as rough why should it be left like that if it's not accurate?
