Hrusov is village on the south of middle Slovakia quite close to Hungarian border - straight line cca 20 km.
South of Slovakia is mostly flat but our village is exception. The center of village has elevation 355 m and highest hill is 525 m above sea level.
There are around 900 inhabitants - around 10% is gypsy community.
People speak slovakian language.
Religion is Christian - catholic.
In Hrusov is long tradition of growing vine - vineyards area on the south.
Also in the village area you can see cellars where wine was stored also with seasonal vegetables and fruits. These cellars are dig in tuff-sandstone.
Still in nowadays is possible to see women wearing traditional costumes, mostly in dark colors - widow costume.
But also colorful traditional dresses are shown mostly during festivals, celebrations.
One of biggest folklore festivals in Slovakia is HONTIANSKA PARADA held in Hrusov.
It is in second half of august. This year 2010 it will be on 20th and 21st of august.
