I would describe this as a pair of bus stops in a center-running painted bus lane (oops those bus stops should have been relocated), not as a very short section of bus way.

You didn't wait the 18 hours I took to respond. I'm super confused about your approach to this.

I will tag it the same as 14th Street (except 06:00-20:00 rather than 22:00) way/5672434

Since this hasty revert in one case you showed that you did not understand the restrictions in place and in the other two you have not responded to my explanation of the changes, so I'm going ahead and reverting this changeset.

There are many bus-specific turn restrictions, is that what you're trying to show?

129580664

You don't understand me. Cars are permitted on Jamaica Avenue at all times, so it is not access=no.

129580870

This is a bus bay, which is correctly tagged as highway=service, not highway=tertiary.

Here is some context: https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2022/11/15/city-makes-jamaica-busways-permanent-but-with-shorter-hours-begins-northern-blvd-bus-lanes/

129580664

It has been mistagged as access=no, which would mean that it is closed to cars, regardless of purpose, at all times.

129580686

This is a bus bypass, so does not meet the criteria for highway=busway. It also does not meet the criteria for highway=secondary since it is not of secondary importance to the highway network (since it only permits buses).

129580664

Jamaica Aveue is not closed to destination traffic at any time, and is not closed at all 10pm-6am.

Bus stations and ramps are not busways. The key concept of the highway=busway proposal is that highway=service is not the appropriate tag for bus-only roads which are not "access to a building, service station, etc...". This was actually one of the examples given in the proposal: osm.wiki/Proposed_features/Tag:highway%3Dbusway#Similar_infrastructure

The source satellite imagery (maxar premium) shows the changes, which are also detailed in this pdf: https://www1.nyc.gov/html/dot/downloads/pdf/2013-11-broadway-nagle.pdf The project was completed earlier this year.

A road bridge is not a motorway.

Are you talking about the Rockaways changes? Queens is a place=suburb, so I don't think neighborhoods in Queens can be too, but perhaps we should change that.

101356090

Another possible idea might be to keep the bypass as highway=primary and downgrade the service roads to highway=secondary or highway=tertiary, like what happens on Grand Concourse: way/191951871

101356090

Yes, that and/or motorroad=yes.

Central Park Avenue is certainly the in-between sort of road where it has some grade separations, some areas with limited access/service roads, and some traffic lights. I could see a case for the entire road (to the Yonkers city line at least) being highway=trunk. I feel like that's kind of pushing it, though it does carry about the same amount of traffic as the highway=trunk section of the Bronx River Parkway.

I'd say for a segment of a road to merit a different classification from the rest it would need to have a signficant amount of people using just that section. To give a nearby example the Bronx River Parkway can be separated into the highway=motorway section (no traffic lights) south of the Sprain Brook merge and the highway=trunk section north of it because there are many users who will use only the southern section and will never see a traffic light. North of there, there are some users who will exit before the first traffic light at Leewood Drive, but the majority won't.
