名称の多言語化については、訪日外国人等の便宜を考慮し、主に英語名称の付加の作業に取り組んでおりました。基本的には国土地理院「地名の英語表記及び外国人にわかりやすい地図記号について－外国人にわかりやすい地図表現検討会報告書－（平成27年9月）」https://www.gsi.go.jp/common/000111876.pdf のルールに沿って英語名称を作成しておりましたが、判然としないものは一部、恣意的に意訳して名付けていたものもあります。
が、上記でご提示いただいたOSMガイドラインの、「ユーザ側の環境でのレンダリングに任せるべき」という思想も理解しますので、英語名称の付記のやり方については再考したいと思います。
