The "intermittent=yes" originates from changeset/173961876. (I split a way here, and the new one inherited the existing tagging). I also could not make sense of it, but I didn't like to remove it in case it was somehow meaningful.

Hi Andy. Thanks for letting me know! I haven't been completely indiscriminate. One could argue - for instance - that the nearby "Plantation" of the same name evidences "World's End". But I'll try to be more judicious in the future. And cheers for letting me know about OpenHistoricalMap, I wasn't aware of it.

My feeling is that this is correct. If it is an OS mistake, it's remained unfixed since the first, 1851 edition. I don't have non-OS sources here though, and am not local enough to ask on the ground, so take it down if you're doubtful.
