Hi Yarilla,

Thanks for your comment. This was the first time I'd edited using JOSM (rather than iD), so it is possible that I made some erroneous edits, though I do not believe that is the case.

The gates to which you refer already existed, and the changeset shows that I did not move them (except for node/893718787/history, which I did move as per the Wiki); I simply tagged them as gates. You're right, though, that I should have moved them off the intersection to remove ambiguity. I will fix this.

As for deleting features, if you inspect the osmChange XML (osm.org/api/0.6/changeset/104061897/download), you'll see that the only operations it contains are 'modify'; there are no 'create' or 'delete' operations. I have deleted no data. I merely updated the buildings to be marked as such (as building:hut, mostly, rather than tourism:camp_site, as this is more accurate, and JOSM pointed out they were already inside a tourism:camp_site polygon, or something, which it suggested was suboptimal.)
It is true that, as building *points* rather than polygons, they're no longer rendered by OpenStreetMap's default style, but they still exist in the data, and I do intend to, at some point, visit the site and take GPS traces of the buildings to make updates; something I can't do from aerial imagery given the dense tree-cover.

Does this all make sense? Have I misunderstood something?
