I noticed you modified the junction at way/1396303940, using Esri World Imagery. I previously mapped this junction using Vantor satellite imagery from 2025-07-24, as Esri World Imagery is out of date in this location (my changeset: changeset/173021133). The newer imagery shows a new road layout has since been constructed, with an at-grade intersection between KAZ01 and KM-17. Apple has an agreement with Vantor (formerly Maxar) to use their more recent imagery to edit OpenStreetMap, which is not publicly available for editing OpenStreetMap. We generally use the imagery that is already available in JOSM but where we do use that more recent imagery, we always cite it and the date the imagery is from in the changeset source.

I plan to restore the junction to reflect the updated layout but wanted to reach out first to let you know the reasoning.

Based on your knowledge of the area, do you think attraction=boat_ride would be a more appropriate tag than route=ferry (attraction=boat_ride)? If so, would you be willing to update the tagging here?

I noticed that you have been modeling roads around Ayub Gabool Goth. Based on publicly available imagery, many of these ways are not visible while others seem to be classified higher than what’s in accordance with the OSM wiki. The OSM wiki (highway=*#Roads) indicates that secondary roads are mostly used to link towns and primary roads connect larger towns that don’t qualify as a motorway or a trunk. With that in mind, I have adjusted these roads to follow OSM Wiki guidelines but please reach out if you have further information or resources regarding your updates in this area.
