Hi, this is indeed the reason. It's a dangerous path that is not always open to traffic due to the river, and has no official markings or traffic signs. To me it makes sense that drivers are not routed through that road to go eg from Xiropigado to Malamata.
Alternatively, we could change it back to unclassified and add some conditions (eg closed during winter)

It's indeed complicated as the Register is not using exact roads but destination connections. But what exactly does "not used in practice" mean? Are you referring to Route No Signs? These are absent in most cases of the Greek road network.

This may be a topic to clarify as I see different approaches in other countries. I will stop the splits until we end up in a common consensus. I already responded to a different changelet, that there is always a physical barrier at toll stations between the carriageways, so the split would make sense

That's a valid argument, but then again there's always a physical barrier in between that should be captured.

Hi, I just happened to be there and saw a busy dual carriageway that seemed to fit a 'secondary' class. I haven't really checked the regional standards, so I understand that this may have violated them. Thanks for reverting my erroneous edits.

Hi Jan, please go ahead. This probably slipped my radar.
