7 days ago | also changed restrictions to better match meaning of "trucks" on restriction signs. according to hgv=*, "trucks" means hgv, while "commercial vehicles" means goods+hgv
about 1 month ago | Thanks for your feedback. In this case, I added the operator= tag to the ATM.
about 1 month ago | I recently drove on the tollway in both directions, and the speed limits remain posted at 60 mph like the main lanes. Some of the signs seemed pretty old, too. Where did you get this information? It seems unlikely that they would raise and then lower the speed limits so often.
about 2 months ago | Hi Elmira, these lanes are only tolled to the east of TX 6 according to the website and my local knowledge. To the west, there are no tolling facilities and only HOV vehicles are allowed 24/7. I will make the appropriate changes shortly.
2 months ago | Elmira, thank you for understanding and working together. I noticed another issue with your change. Shortening the motor_vehicle:conditional key as you did may have been better for clarity, but I realized that the new value of the key results in single-occupant vehicles no longer being denied access during the HOV-exclusive hours of Mo-Fr 06:30-08:00,16:30-18:00. The value of this tag should be motor_vehicle:conditional=yes @ (Mo-Fr 05:00-06:30,08:00-11:00,13:00-16:30,18:00-20:00; PH off). hov=* is considered a subset of motor_vehicle=* and overrides the value inherited from motor_vehicle:conditional for just HOVs and just for the times specified in hov:conditional, and does not imply anything about non-HOV vehicles, so the restriction against motor_vehicles must be explicitly stated in the motor_vehicle tag. Also, hov:conditional must be modified to say hov:conditional=designated @ (Mo-Fr 06:30-08:00,16:30-18:00; PH off). Without PH off, the tag would mean that hov vehicles are allowed during Mo-Fr 06:30-08:00,16:30-18:00, even during holidays when the lane is completely closed. I imagine the express lanes for I-45 and I-69/US 59 need similar changes to what we discussed for US 290. Thanks for your continued diligence.
3 months ago | Hi Elmira, thanks for your careful attention to this issue. Unfortunately, I think you are still partly mistaken. Please see the following image from Mapillary (a street-level imagery source who has given OpenStreetMap permission to use its images in improving OSM): https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=284044510080651&focus=photo&lat=29.93351099999998&lng=-95.646029&z=18.398531005710502&x=0.49249642090185536&y=0.47767376548165447&zoom=0 If you go to '...' (image options) and then 'advanced', it shows the image was taken at 10:09am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. On the left of the image, there is an electronic pricing sign for the express lane, which shows the current prices for single-occupant vehicles - $1.00, which corresponds to the current information on the website for 10:00am, and FREE, for 2+ HOV vehicles. This sign confirms that 2+ HOV vehicles do not have to pay a toll outside of the HOV-exclusive period, at least for weekdays, as of 2019. (Are you aware of any changes to this condition since 2019?) However, I believe I was wrong and you are correct about weekends - all vehicles, HOV or not, must pay a $1.00 toll on Saturday and Sunday. Based on our findings, I would suggest not restoring my previous tag toll:hov=no, but rather modifying yours to toll:hov:conditional=no @ (Mo-Fr). Does this seem okay to you?
3 months ago | I meant to write about your addition of hov=designated, as you did not remove hov:conditional.
3 months ago | Hi DimplePatel, your change to the US 290 Express Lane from osm.wiki/Tag:hov:conditional=... to hov=designated implied that the express lane is open 24/7 for HOV vehicles. This is not the case. Our friends at Lyft have since reverted your change, but please keep this in mind for the future.
3 months ago | Elmira, thank you for your contribution. Your change removing toll:hov and adding toll:hov:conditional implies that vehicles meeting the current HOV minimum still have to pay tolls outside of the HOV-exclusive times of (Mo-Fr 06:30-08:00,16:30-18:00). I don't think this is the case. HOV vehicles (3+ during Mo-Fr 06:30-08:00 and 2+ all other times, including weekends) never have to pay tolls in the express lane, according to "How much does it cost to use the express lanes?" in https://www.ridemetro.org/riding-metro/hov-hot-express-lanes. My previous tag toll:hov=no fully described this behavior.
about 1 year ago | what is this? why is this here? there is no alpine_hut here. you seem to have created several random nodes across the world with no connection to reality.
| 148233573 | almost 2 years ago | social_facility=* is not appropriate for Rudder Theater, see social_facility=*
|
almost 2 years ago | Please be careful in the future, you moved a bus stop by 400 meters onto the wrong road
about 2 years ago | Thanks for clearing that up. I now see the comments are not for seperating distinct components of the store, but rather just to annotate different opening hours intervals. I will update this with your fixed version
about 2 years ago | I also just realized that "no sales" overlaps with the main time for Monday-Saturday, but not for Sunday. This is now definitely more broken than before, so please put more care and thought into your fixes in the future, thanks.
about 2 years ago | I don't really agree that this is "fixing" the opening_hours. It is counterintuitive to specify an opening_hours range for when they are closed for something. There is no positive indication of when sales are allowed, οnly a negative indication of when they are closed for sales, so it's no longer as clear when they really are open for sales. "no sales" is not a real component of the shop, so when data consumers show this store as "open" in two different ways, it no longer corresponds to the reality nearly as well. On the other hand, my scheme neatly distinguishes the main component of the shop (the shop floor with lots of racks of clothes through which most visitors come to browse) from the component of selling them your clothes (which you do off to the side in a corner of the store). I would prefer the opening hours to be reverted back to my version. I welcome the social media tag edits though.
