When I did a site survey of that water way, it was more of a grass drainage ditch than a stream. I marked it as a brook because it had little water in it. I suppose I could have notated it an intermittent stream, but that didn't seem as fitting. There is an entry for waterway=brook in the wiki. Perhaps waterway=ditch would be the most accurate now that I think about it.

No, just the normal aerial photography, although I've driven past this park countless times.

Thanks! That was one of the first changes I made on OSM and I didn't know some of the conventions at the time.

FYI... I reverted and merged two nodes that could have been updated instead of deleted (Olomana and Kainawaʻaunui). Also, I merged a duplicate node (Rocky Hill).

I took a look at the C&C web site at http://honolulugis.org/ and the boundaries you are talking about are pretty large, more than could be input during a single OSM editing session. The areas I marked as residential were within the C&C residential zones, so I don't see why that is arbitrary. One of the things I like about OSM is the opportunity to fill in any of the many empty areas that still exist on the map. I'd rather add information in pieces than have to have it entirely accurate on the first edit.

Any particular reason why the residential areas were deleted? The two areas are predominantly residential, even if there are places like Manoa Valley Inn which are commercial businesses.
