Changeset When Comment

I shall delete my edits at my earliest discretion. You will empathise that that'll teach me to contribute on the basis of overly loud invitations (a rather misleading practise as what ypi mean to say is "You're invited to consider maybe reconsider contributing after having spent hours of research on websites, bulletin boards and in peer discussions, graduating in IT and provisioning your own server farm).
Finally, only speaking for myself, I would much rather dispose if a satnav that gives me warnings in only SOME cases (therefore letting me down in the moment I need it most) than of one that tends to give off flase positives, but that's only me.
@kreuzschnabel: The magic is in the word "occasional".

The point has been conveyed, indeed you made a lot of sense until you put that butthurt comment at the end. OpenThisAndThat is always open as long as, uhm, "technically savy and committed users" approve.
I don't have my own server for my own database for my own layer, and frankly, I can't be bothered because I practise a rather time-consuming profession which is far away from auch things. I am a casual contributor (one of the very few in my area as fas as I can tell), grassroots so to speak.
This whole thing is reminiscent of German social politics: create opportunities, then bitch and moan when people use them. In short, I find it irritaring that so many POIs have been provisioned in editing tools which hold their water so poorly in respect to verifiability (e.g. canoe, cape, pyrotechnics, christmas event (sic!), christmas tree etc.).
I've learned my lesson and indeed take the points, if anyone feels it is appropriate to do so he is free to undo my edits. Nevertheless thanks for the constructive input.

Michael, you are free to verify the actuality of my POIs, either by following the link or by use of your car. :)

Like I said, this is something of an inbetweener as OSM doesn't, at least to my knowledge, have a decent support for this type of problem.
The user in me will gladly vouch for appreciation of "dormant" speed traps.
Since you bring up the actuality issue (indeed not one of OSM's strong points) I again will make a case in the favor of my edits. During the "offline" period of most users it is almost certain that one of the speed traps will be live.
IMO it points to a more general issue of OSM having many problems with time-based POIs (traffic lights that operate only during daytime, streams that do not flow in wintertime, Christmas markets, need I go on?), so the solution will most definitely not be found here.
Kind regards!

Hi!
I see where you're coming from and relate to the dilemma, alas, speed traps can not only be somewhere else tomorrow, but they can be in your face today. IMO there is a slight shortcoming in OSM in terms of speed cameras in general (particularly when it comes to laser based ones) and would therefore propose to better play "safe than sorry".
