4 months ago | Cycle lanes that are part of the road should be mapped using the cycleway=lane tag, not mapped as separate cycleways disconnected from the road. Additionally, shared use paths should replace any existing sidewalks/footways, not be mapped separate from them.

about 1 year ago | Fair points, and I will admit I got a little defensive because your changes appeared to me as an outsider adding unneeded complexity to a part of my hometown I've worked extensively on, especially since some of the curbs you added were erroneously tagged as traffic signals. I assumed your edits were being partially done in bad faith, and for that I apologize. While I agree there would be value in adding traffic signals to their stop points at complex intersections (e.g. intersections where one or both of the highways are divided), mapping one traffic signal node at simple intersections is still what is prescribed on the wiki, and at a cursory glance, I couldn't find any cities where the method you proposed (for simple intersections) is common practice. Could you point some examples out to me if they do exist? I would also argue that while how the map appears on various renderers should not be the primary concern of mappers, it shouldn't be ignored entirely. We should still take into account to some degree how normal users will view the map on various renderers, although I have no evidence other than my own intuition as to how normal users will perceive the changes you proposed.
about 1 year ago | Changing the traffic lights and stop signs on simple intersections is unnecessary. It only adds unneeded complexity, and it looks messy when viewing on openstreetmap.org.
almost 2 years ago | In this instance, all of the extra buildings tagged as amenity=self_storage should only be tagged as building=warehouse. I only tagged the storage facility's main office with shop=storage_rental. I wasn't aware of the standard put forth on the wiki when I tagged them. I had previously thought the standard was placing the shop=storage_rental at the storage facilty's rental office while tagging extra buildings with amenity=self_storage. So at least in this instance, I can remove all of the amenity=self_storage tags.

over 2 years ago | The building you added near 19th Street and Naismith Drive no longer exists. It has been demolished as of 2023. There is already a demolished building area there to denote this. I live in the area, so I can confirm this in person.
almost 3 years ago | This changeset should be reverted as the map imagery used for it is no longer accurate. New buildings and roads have been built since the Bing aerial imagery was taken. The new changes can be seen using Esri World Imagery and Google Street View. I can also confirm this in person since I live in the area.
almost 4 years ago | This section of Kasold Drive is no longer a split road. It's not reflected in Bing aerial maps, but I've checked it in person (I'm a Lawrence resident), and it's reflected in Google street view as well.
