Hello, I am editing the foot paths in this area, and identified this service road you created as a foot path. I went ahead and applied this tagging change, but I am happy to discuss this matter further if you have more information. Thanks

Hey Gavin! I'm wondering what the "Sport Outpost" nodes are that you mapped in this changeset. Maybe we could find some more descriptive tags for them. Thanks!

I did this from memory (I've visited the site a couple of time now), but I'm sure the geometry will need to be refined.

Unless this area has been renovated since I last surveyed (and please forgive me if it has), I don't think leisure=outdoor_seating is an appropriate tag for what is here. [0] I don't think this is a seating area in the spirit of that tag, which is usually used for outdoor seating areas outside of a restaurant or similar establishment. Here there are just a couple of benches on a gravel surface. I think it would be preferable to map the benches as amenity=bench nodes, in line with other benches on campus. I think the outdoor_seating tag would be more appropriate, for example, on the Sadler Terrace.

Hi there,

Thank you for putting the work in to map the Richmond Slave Trail. Today I converted it into a route relation in changeset #155050533. I would be happy to discuss this change and/or ways we can better map this trail. Cheers!

I used a fancy GPS unit borrowed from the William & Mary Center for Geospatial Analysis to complete this work.

The entire weekend's work can be downloaded, see this file:

Some of the notes may be difficult for others to read, and some of the things I mapped were from memory.

This is the second of two large edits I made to Belle Isle, following a weekend of walking into spiderwebs while looking down at my phone.

This looks great, thanks for your contribution and welcome to the sidewalks project! You correctly tagged unmarked/marked/signaled crossings, and added many surface tags. I know how long that stuff can take :D

If you're ever interested in connecting with other mappers in Richmond, we'd love to have you at MapRVA, a biweekly meetup. Feel free to message me for details or find us online.

This looks like a good change, thanks. We have a lot of imprecise roads throughout the fan, as I'm sure you've noticed!

Thanks for this fix! The end was not yet connected because we have an active pedestrian mapping project underway, see here:

Hi @Damiles, it looks like you made a few erroneous edits in this area back in June. I've reverted them in changeset #145351518. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss this further. Thanks!

This changeset is flagged for having deleted a Wikipedia/Wikidata tag. I transformed the W&M Law School from a way to a relation:

for example, I removed bicycles=yes tags from ways that dead-end on a staircase. these may technically be permissible to bikes(?) but their presence is unlikely. it's unclear what ways around campus would be "no", "yes", or "designated" wrt bikes
