Hi, I understand what you mean, but this is why I think this should be allowed to stay:
1) I've seen a whole lot of precedent for pretty well obliterated rail lines being mapped as abandoned/razed on OSM all over America.
2) Abandoned/razed railway features are rendered exclusively on ORM and have absolutely no conflictions with or contribution to clutter on any other map. Being able to see abandoned lines is part of what makes ORM a complete and useful resource for rail enthusiasts.

Did you really delete all the lines marking abandoned/disused RR right of way/track? The abandoned tag is meant to mark out where railway track once was if the right of way is still visible.
