1 day ago | Welcome to OpenStreetMap! This is a database used by maps around the world. If you need to test something, please use the development server: https://master.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org . The tags on OSM objects all mean things that the community has agreed to, and these tags are used by real apps. Removing amenity=post_box means it's not a post box anymore! The name= key also has its own rules: osm.wiki/Names#Good_practice
29 days ago | Thanks for confirming you didn't use Streetview! When saving a changeset, you can specify how you got the information in the "sources" field. "Local knowledge" would be the one you would want in this case. Specifying your sources like this will help avoid confusion in the future.
29 days ago | Welcome to OSM! Please remember to save your changes in one area before moving on to another, so that it makes changes easier to review. Thanks!

Hello! Please try to be more descriptive in your changeset comment about what you changed and why. For example, "Tag that roads have a separate sidewalk way." More examples here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Thanks! |
29 days ago | Hello! Please try to be more descriptive in your changeset comment about what you changed and why. For example, "Added traffic_signals=signal tag to traffic signal nodes." More examples here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Thanks!
29 days ago | Your changeset comment mentions "streetview," which is part of Google Maps.
about 1 month ago | Welcome to OSM and thanks for contributing! Please note that copying from Google Maps, including Google Streetview, is illegal. The built-in web editor iD has a number of permissible options for street-level imagery, including Bing Streetside and Mapillary, in the "imagery" panel on the right side.
about 1 month ago | When a business has moved out, it's better to just remove the tags that are no longer applicable, instead of deleting the node entirely, so that useful information like the address doesn't have to be re-added. The web editor iD has a shortcut called "downgrade" that does that automatically.
about 1 month ago | Please remember to save your edits in one area before moving to another, to make your changes easier to review. Also, try to be more specific about what you changed and why—for example, "Add crossing ways and remove crossing tags where there are none." (more advice here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments ) Thanks!
about 1 month ago | I think, in the changeset comment, when I said "NSI" I meant "ATP," and I accidentally left the AllThePlaces "id" tag when I copied from there. Sorry!
about 1 month ago | Please be careful! I've reverted this changeset because it destroyed South Almaden Boulevard. Also, shop=computer_repair_and_shop_electronic is not a valid tag, please check shop=*#Shop-specific_information for a list of common values.
about 1 month ago | This was already added: node/13276687065
about 2 months ago | Fixed the wiki: osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=Key:sport&oldid=2915316
about 2 months ago | The "name=" key needs to exactly match what the place is actually called and have no additional descriptions. There are other ways to disambiguate, including the "operator=" tag. See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only
about 2 months ago | When a restaurant or shop closes, it's better to just remove the tags that are no longer relevant, than to delete the node entirely. The address still exists at that location, even if there isn't a restaurant there.
2 months ago | Hello! Please use the changeset description field to describe specifically what you changed—for example, "Replace sidewalk:left and sidewalk:right with sidewalk:both", or just "Upgraded sidewalk tags." You can see more examples here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Thanks!
2 months ago | That tagging is approximately what I would have suggested. Thanks!
2 months ago | The office is still there, it just isn't generally open to the public, or requires an appointment. disused:office= means there's no office there at all anymore.
3 months ago | Hello! Please include in your changeset note a description of what you changed and why. For example, "Added buildings, pitches, and driveways from imagery." More examples at osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments . Thanks!
4 months ago | I still think it's a misinterpretation to call a tag "wrong" just because of a minor wording choice on a wiki page that someone wrote. A tag is only "wrong" if it incorrectly describes the real world. OSM doesn't have a strict schema, the wiki is only there for guidance.
