PVT indicates ownership=private, though, no? access=private would be a "no trespassing" sign or similar.

Hi and thanks for contributing! My only suggestion would be that the shape of these parking lots as drawn is fairly irregular: usually it looks nicer to have square corners (and if nothing else parallel edges seem most plausible). You can often use Q key as a squaring tool should you need. Thanks!!!

Yes, I filed another report. Well noticed!

Reverted the Boundary County changeas unsourced and apparently untrue. Please only make changes that reflect reality!

I mean, just a tag edit to delete them (presumably in the side bar in iD? I don't use it.)

Either way sure why not I did.

The changes are immediately live in the OSM database but they may take some time to propagate to websites/apps that use OSM data; usually they pull a new copy of the database every week or month or whatever.

I checked and it looks like this road length was derived from TIGER Data and matches VT's e911 map (which I think is also largely from TIGER). That data set is known to be somewhat less than perfect, so thanks for fixing it up.

If you like you can remove the tiger:* tags from this way to show that it's been reviewed by someone for correctness. Thanks!

(woops, I meant to say "in any *other* way")

Hey, thanks for all the usage markings (VAST trail access particularly helpful!). Just wanted to point out that the marking "PVT" on a street sign means it's privately owned (ownership=private). Looking at streetside imagery (from 2020, so I could be wrong), there's no "no trespassing" / "private property" signs, which means that it's not a private way.

If it is, access=private is a morre accurate tag than access=permit, as the latter means "you need to ask, but the answer is yes" (for instance, a private forest with a trail system intended for public use but where the owner requires users to "check in" before entering). So this should be ownership=private and either access=private or nothing. I'm just sitting in my basement so I'll defer to you on exactly what the state of the groun is right now.

Also, foot=no means "under no circumstances may anyone at all walk here" which is a bit harsh seeing as you're saying that access in any way is restricted but possible. It's more applicable for stuff like interstate highways where walking on the shoulder is in fact illegal.

Sorry, I have no idea how I managed to touch rel2750828.

Hi and welcome to OSM! Thanks for adding all this POI info. Only thing I'd say is that phone numbers should include country code, as in "+1 802-123-4567".

Hi! Would landuse=farmland be better than farmland=yes? Wiki says the latter is "not defined", and the former is far more widely used: landuse=farmland

Also, please don't add anything which could be seen as personal information, such as "Kiki's house", unless that's actually a vacation apartment named such (which I doubt). Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to OSM! Do be careful, since it seems that this building is already mapped: way/1091737675. Also, there's no need to tag a node as name=Building; the building=yes tag on the way is the preferred label.

Thanks!

It's possible that Strava hasn't updated with the latest version of the map yet; many consumers only sync up with OSM periodically.

Hi, and welcome to OSM! Thanks for fixing the name of The Ledges (can't believe it's been wrong for over a decade!) but I can't resolve the domain name for the website. Is it still up somewhere? Would you mind checking (I can't find it) and updating/removing it? Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to OSM! addr:place is used in the (unusual in the US) situation where no named street is associated with the address: addr:place=*

To specify the name of a store, use "name=Gramps Country Store" instead.

With these recent "private road" changes, do you mean that the roads are off-limits to anyone but the owner, as well? The tag for what is usually called a "private road" on signs and so on (i.e., not town maintained) is ownership=private.

The distinction is approximately that of a "No Trespassing" / "Private Propery" sign.

Here's the documentation on the two kinds of private-ness:
- access=private
- ownership=private

Thanks for your contribution, and welcome to OSM!

Welcome to OSM, and thanks for the contribution! Just so you know, phone numbers in OSM are written in the +1 234-567-890 format; I've changed it for you; many thanks for adding it.
