One more question: why did you use the cutting tag here?

171971502 2 months ago

@Langers1234567890
You added lanes and maxspeed information for several roads here in Kasai, DRC. What is the source for this information? I really doubt whether something like maxspeed (a maximum legal speed limit ) exists on a road like that. If there is no reliable source, this information should be deleted.

Ok, i remapped 5 elements and deleted my versions (4 landuses and a road). Mea culpa, but still no idea how that happened.

171466879 3 months ago

22 days ago. At that time i had started to map in that region before the first Ebola projects went online. And there are older edits of mine, back at least to 2019.
I can not explain these duplications right now, that is all a bit strange. Will have a closer look later this evening. If you find more, please send info in this discussion.
Thank you and many greetings
Henning

Hello Mateusz,
this was really a long time ago and i cannot remember any details. The history shows that i introduced these tags, but i have no idea what they mean. And for sure i have no local knowledge of this street name.
Is it possible that these tags were produced by JOSM when i split an existing way? This would be typical for mapping streets with e.g. bridges.
In that case, user "Osm153" could be the one who used these tags first, as in way/372546906 .

@_pressanykey
(siehe Wiki)

@HoRadelt

@AmanBD Thank you for this information. I mapped this as part of HOT project #12820 with the objective of closing gaps in the main road network. The final classification can only be done by people like you with local knowledge.

Hello wendy23thimble, i noticed your many contributions of buildings in DRC. Other users seem to do the same, all using the changeset comment "#missingmaps Building Mapping". Is this an official MissingMaps project? If yes, it wood be good to give more details in the CS, especially when this is an organised editing. Maybe you could give me some background information, or direct me to someone else?
Greetings

Please read my messages in the tasking manager about project #12381.

>> @Ivon2018 I wrote you already about the necessity to square buildings, but it seems you do not read these messages in the Tasking Manager. Until now, i squared them myself and validated your tiles. As this is an elemental problem, i have to invalidate now.

Hello UNGSC-mpicaro, i have a question concerning way/1010199439 and the connected highways. It seems that you changed the classification of one continuous highway according to the respective landuse. in this case, you changed between track and residential. This is unusual, i have not seen this before. Is this a generally accepted concept? And where is it described?

119596864 over 3 years ago

in addition to my first message: way/1051150877 is an example of what should not happen. It is visible on Bing, but goes right through a large building , visible on newer imagery from Maxar. I will have to delete it.

119318603 over 3 years ago

@ElvaFlannery
you have mapped roads and buildings in the city of Lwambo, Kambove region, DRC, based on Bing imagery. Please be informed that the region is part of a larger project (HOT tasking manager, project #12252) which uses Maxar premium imagery only. I would suggest to map the region by TM only. It loads the correct imagery automatically and avoids conflicts by overlapping mapping.

I have no idea what you are speaking about???! Should we change language? French, German, spanish very limited?

117737243 almost 4 years ago

@mirluy
You are mapping buildings on top of already mapped buildings. This results in useless double structures that have to be deleted again. Also, your changeset comments are refering to HOT project #8171 without using the tasking manager.
Please explain what and why you are doing this. Or contact me directly via OSM messaging system.

@NoKnow You changed scrub to building, which makes no sense here. Please be careful when changing relations. They can be tricky and you might destroy a lot of work easyly.
I will repair the tag.

@Melomania_V
Is there a reason why you changed the tagging of way/961858648?
It was a bridge without a highway tag. Now it is a path crossing a stream without bridge or ford. One error was exchanged against one another?!? And there might really be a bridge you do not see under the tree cover.
