Tag like site ID are moved to "ref"

Many of the tags I'm removing were auto imported from a GIS dataset that contain information that like route references that become redundant with updated relationships. These don't fall within the tagging protocol that is listed in the OSM wiki for bus stops. Is it incorrect to remove tags to fall within the standard for bus stops? Let me know.
