Thanks for detailed description. I agree that the sidewalk and the residential road can be combined. I don't think that this is the case for the primary road. One should not walk there. I will try make corresponding changes.

Sorry, but I don't really know what you are speaking about in this case. I was trying to do my best.
There are so many imperfections on the map of Karlsruhe that I don't really know where to start. (Still better then Google maps most of the time:-)
I guess, I am doing something wrong and not going to spend my time on corrections any more.

OK. It is a bit confusing, but I see your point.
I will change all similar pathways that I did in such way to the suggested style:
bicycle=designated
foot=designated
segregated=yes

bicycle=use_sidepath

When a road has a parallel compulsory cycleway (... (DE, PL).

The second image in the brackets is what we have on this street.

Indeed you should not drive on the foot path and there is a dedicated lane for bicycles separated by a white line.
