Changeset When Comment

See changeset #178752934, I think this should work better for everyone involved and easier for later maintenance. Please let me know what you think

See in essence I understand where you're coming from but I have found it harder for me to edit areas that are just single areas connected to each other. I am running into this in fixing land use mapping up around Colville I did when I started mapping years ago as it is harder to add a pond later on or a meadow or anything else if everything are areas. Having one area per "area" for me is easier because I can just add a line where needed that divide the uses connected or if I need to add something within an area later I can just add it to the multipolygon as a inner portion.

I'm sure there is a middle ground but for me, this has been a lot easier for maintaining later and adding to it.

Hmmm, maybe its just because I am local but sometimes it is quicker to go up Government Way and not US 95 considering both have the same amount of lanes. Also considering how much traffic uses 95 at a given moment, its rare to go the speed limit for any amount of time until you get up past Hayden

I guess you would be technically right. I just assumed expressways would be similar to parts of US 95 north of CDA that are interstate like but not an interstate.

Hello, I noticed you tagged US 95 in the CDA area as an expressway. What is your reasoning for this change? There are too many ingress and egress points for the majority of this route

(actually cleaned up lands)

I was literally going to update this as I hiked this route today and the last time I looked the name was "Turkey Trot"

This and your previous edit have been reverted, while one could call these areas "parks", they are already within the Riverside State Park multi-polygon, which is tagged as a nature preserve because the main purpose of these areas is to preserve the natural area. Please do not make similar edits in this fashion in the future. Feel free to reach out to the local OSM editors like me for clarification on mapping standards in the future. Thanks!

Hey, welcome to the Spokane OSM area. When you make a changeset, can you say what changes you made instead of "made updates"? Like, "updated businesses in Airway Heights". It helps us know what you did or didn't do.

Maybe it can be tagged industrial, just the land is zoned commercial and they do sales, I'm assuming people can walk into their office to do a sale. Maybe "corporate office" would be more appropriate

Didn't notice the other info, thanks for reminding me

I thought it would be a currency exchange as they trade money for gold and silver, both forms of currency

As I mentioned in the change note description, it was an approximation of the trail from the sheet Spokane County provided. That's where I got the name also

Ah shoot, yeah sorry, forgot about adding that information back, will add it back

I only use landuse=forest because these areas encompass managed timber lands and I would assume the other property owners do logging once in awhile

Didn't realize there was a trade shop tag, thanks for the info. I'll use commercial/industrial building tags for places I can't tell what tag would work best

Noted, thanks for the tip

Was unaware I did that, thanks

Yes, I plan to come back and re-add them, just had to figure out who actually owns and manages the land since I know it's various logging companies. The land it usually not accessible besides a few roads (the roads I left and classified minor).

Yes, the houses on those roads are linked to Rail Canyon Road according to the Stevens County Property map. I plan to come back and fix all the roads around here
