Thanks for the feedback. I'm grateful to you for pointing out the Strava heat maps; I hadn't thought of using them but will do so in the future. I'd been relying on OSM gpx traces, but often they don't exist or there are very few on a path, so it is not easy to decide the path direction.
Look, we all do our best and sometimes we slip up. Thanks for the advice but please tone down the sarcasm a bit.
