Thanks for the questions. Concerning your first question, Apple has an agreement with Maxar to use their more recent imagery to edit OpenStreetMap, which is not publicly available for editing OpenStreetMap. We generally use the imagery that is already available in JOSM but where we do use that more recent imagery, we always cite it and the date the imagery is from in the changeset source.

As for your second question, the hamlet’s roads and buildings were completely devastated by this year's flooding in the above imagery. I was unsure if this town may be rebuilt, so I left the place node features unchanged. The trunk reroute that I modeled can be confirmed by the OSM community with Strava GPS traces which I cited in changeset/148888971.

I added the removed roads back that used to reach Pueblo Neuvo with destroyed:highway tagging (see osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix), and track tagging for the sections of road that can still be seen. I will leave the POIs tagging as it is now for the local community to update since I do not know if there are plans to rebuild or not.

Thank you for reaching out. To answer about strava, I had noticed a few locations where realignment might lead to an improvement and thus created the offset for my edits. But agree after review these were not necessary and will keep that in mind and the other features, like emergency phones, in the future.
