over 1 year ago | Hello ompatekar. I observe this junction (on the ground, in person) very frequently. It is not a circle at all - it is roughly triangular, which is also reflected in the aerial imagery. The original geometry was more correct. I will try to revert the relevant geometrical changes in this changeset.
over 1 year ago | Hello! I don't even remember making this change, and I don't go here very often. If I made a change, I definitely saw it on a sign (= probably legit) while passing by in a vehicle (= may be mistaken). I could go on foot to take a look in a day or two.
almost 2 years ago | Hey, Mateusz. It seems like it was a mistake. I've corrected it. Thanks for bringing it to my notice.
almost 2 years ago | Hey Saurav. It was great to see all your edits yesterday - I think you have the most changesets of all the participants. Please note that names should use title case - in this case "RS Junior Modern School". You can read more guidelines about names here - osm.wiki/Names Keep up the good work! 😃
about 2 years ago | Hey Ajay, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your contribution! I was curious to know your source for the building level count (i.e. the number of storeys). I counted it from the outside and it seemed to be 14 or 15 storeys (including the ground floor and the roof). PS - if you can email me your phone number at contrapunctus@disroot.org, I'll be able to invite you to future OpenStreetMap events in Delhi, where you can meet and map with the OpenStreetMap Delhi community.
| 144817587 | about 2 years ago | Hey wennlh, thank you for your contributions! Some feedback - 1. Please try to provide more unique changeset comments, which mentions not only your intended area of editing, but also the changes you intended to make. 2. Also, please use title case for names, e.g. "Government Primary School" rather than "Government primary School".
Thank you and happy mapping 😃 |
over 2 years ago | Hey, thanks for telling me about it. To clarify - do you mean that even if the address on the sign is only given in Hindi, I should use addr:full=* rather than addr:full:hi=* for the Hindi text? The only place on the wiki where I found something regarding this is osm.wiki/Multilingual_names#When_name_is_only_in_one_language ...but it's not clear to me what it is suggesting.
almost 3 years ago | Hello Sudheer, and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Thank you for your edits. The community has certain requests regarding your contributions. Please follow them to make your edits more useful - 1. The `name` is only meant for the name of an object. For example, to mark a cricket ground, we use `leisure=pitch` and `sport=cricket`. The name should be "Cricket Ground" _if and only if_ that is what people call it, or if that is what the official name is. If you don't know the name, it's okay to leave the name blank. See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only for more information. 2. Many of your changes have the same text in the name and the description. The `description` "should not simply be a repetition of information that is already contained in other tags." See description=* for more information. 3. Please use proper capitalization for the name, e.g. "Nagarpalika Office" or "Nagar Palika Office" rather than "NAGARPALIKA OFFICE". Similarly, use proper capitalization in changeset comments. 4. Please write meaningful changeset comments. For examples of desired changeset comments, as well as why they are necessary, see osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments 5. Please be careful to avoid misspellings, e.g. I'm sure you meant "market" instead of "marker", and "cricket ground" instead of "cricker ground". You may also create notes instead of editing. Use the "Add a note to the map" button, and other mappers will (some day) make the changes requested in the note. I encourage you to continue editing. Feel free to message me if you need any help on the subject.
almost 4 years ago | Hey, azakh-world. I didn't realize the existing stop positions had station tags on them too! 😱 I've traced two stations and moved the station tags to them, I'll do the others over the next few days.
almost 4 years ago | Seems like you've already deleted the duplicate relation. As for the other errors on that page, I'm not sure what the tool wants me to do... 🤔️
almost 4 years ago | Hm...probably related to the problem I've been having in JOSM recently, where I download all route and route master relations before editing, but the latter aren't downloaded :\
about 4 years ago | Hey, Sundar. I'm afraid these changes to the name=* tags do not reflect the transliterations as seen on signboards on the ground. Could you please avoid making any changes which are not observable on the ground?
almost 6 years ago | Yeah, it should - it would then match the way it is written in Hindi.
almost 6 years ago | Thank you for saying that, I feel happy knowing that my work was useful to someone! 😀
about 6 years ago | Hey, Mayank, thanks for adding these route relations ^^ It seems you've created some relations which already existed. Please consider using JOSM and downloading existing routes first as described [here](osm.wiki/Delhi/Buses#Get_involved) to prevent this. I'll be deleting the newer ones and moving their members to the older ones. Additionally, bus stations cannot be members of a route relation (yeah, that one surprised me at first, too ^^). Add a public_transport=platform+bus=yes at the place where the passengers embark/disembark, and add that to the relation.
about 6 years ago | Hi Mayank! :) It seems you've created a second carriageway for Vikas Marg in this changeset. I happened to pass the spot today, and noticed that it was single carriageway. Aerial imagery (I checked Bing and Mapbox Satellite) confirms this. Since this changeset touches quite a few roads, I cannot revert it - I will have to remove the carriageway manually. Please do not add carriageways where none exist. And kindly consider making smaller changesets, with more descriptive comments - they make life easier for your fellow mappers ;)
over 6 years ago | Ah, cool 🙂 I've now seen another sign near the Siri Fort-GK intersection (north-east of this park) which too says "DDA Park, Panchsheel". Perhaps we can use that as the name, and "Panchsheel Forest" as the alt_name?
almost 7 years ago | A second changeset was unintentionally squashed into this one. The comment was "Malviya Nagar - add 2 car shops, 4 roads, road name, arts centre" The source was "survey"
almost 7 years ago | Whoops, the imagery used was Mapbox Satellite, not Esri.
almost 7 years ago | Hi simarjeet! The name "Re" sounds like an error, could you please let me know if that is the case? :)
