I will keep that in mind for future editing.

I see you added max weight to that section of the road. Where do you find that information? I have yet to find a data source other than road signs in person or on Mapillary.

I must say, I'm grateful for your keen eye and attention to detail in pointing out the discrepancy in the bridge's highway classification. As a novice editor, I'm still learning the ropes and refining my techniques, and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from my mistakes.

Upon further reflection, I realize that I deviated from my usual process when creating the bridge. Typically, I focus on adding the correct tags for the bridge itself, and I don't usually alter the highway settings. However, in this case, I must have inadvertently changed the classification to residential highway instead of matching the surrounding unclassified highway tags.

As I dug deeper into the history of the edit, I was fascinated to discover that the connecting highways have been marked as unclassified since Richard's changeset #55708770, a remarkable seven years ago. It's a testament to the dedication and expertise of editors like yourself who have helped shape the map into its current form.

I must admit, I'm still trying to understand what might have led to the mistake, but I'm glad we could have this conversation. It's a valuable learning experience for me, and I appreciate your willingness to engage in a discussion about the intricacies of mapping. Your insight and expertise are invaluable resources for novice editors like myself, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

Now, I think I'll just go ahead and correct that tag, making sure to match the surrounding highway classifications. It's a small correction, but one that will help ensure the accuracy and consistency of the map.

A bulk change made in this set changed Name=Cabin instead of Building=Cabin. This has since been corrected.

While I think the situation is still correct based on the previous example I sent, I can agree to leave lane count off roads without marked lanes from here on.

lanes=*#Examples

Example #4 shows this exact situation of a two lane road with no lane markings as being tagged this way.

You are stating this example is incorrect and should be removed?

The wiki documentation for lanes does not specify that roads must have lane markings to be marked with a lane count. It does however state I should have added the road width as measured to make the tag narrow more useful.

The road itself is wide enough to be a two lane road, however with street parking it narrows to a one lane road, hence the narrow tag.

lanes=*#No_lane_markings

I can not readily find the link now but I did read that two lane roads with street parking should be mapped as two lanes and narrow.

The stop sign was obviously in err. The way for 13 street is in the opposite direction of East 13th street, I likely saw the direction of 13th street and did not realize the transition to East 13th flipped direction. Someone with a drivers license would in fact detect this as an error in direction and probably not follow directions to stop.

Based on the USA guidelines most roads outside of urban areas should be classified as unclassified. Most roads in this area were originally imported as residential roads, well before that guideline was published.

The second reason is the definition of the highway=residential tag states the roads are in urban areas.

Based on that and other reading of the forums it appears that most roads in this county were incorrectly imported as residential and should be classified as unclassified. Only roads in urban areas should be classified as residential.

There are no lane markings on that road.

These two ways appear to have an error in their surface tag. I would correct it but I'm unsure what the desired result is. Happy mapping.

I have taken your advice and am seeking more information from the community.

All data is being entered manually. The source tag is to show where the road data is coming from. If there is ever an issue with the data source the edits are easy to find and update.

I am willing to change how I source my edits if the tools to find ways by changeset source exists.

This was a note for me to return to it later. My macro automatically tags driveways with no-exit, this was my oversight.

I should have used the word aligned instead of bounds. Roads were checked for alignment.
