Changeset When Comment

Since there was no response and a ground survey shows nothing but an overgrown clearing, I'm deleting this "aerodrome".

115542222 almost 4 years ago

Yes, that is correct. But as you have left it there are now TWO Evergreen Cemeteries. And one is inside the other.
See node/358229359
and way/819205561
I'm suggesting that there is only one cemetery so there should only be one OSM element representing it.

It looks like there is a cemetery inside a cemetery since you have the same details on a close way and a node. I'd make sure the way had all the details and then delete the node to remove the duplicate.

Thank you for adding these details around N Berwick. It looks like you've duplicated many elements and they need to be cleaned up. What happened was that you draw building polygons and added business details to them. Then you updated existing address note with the same details. In the case of this edit, there are now TWO post offices, with the same name, one inside the other. If you're going to draw buildings (which are nicer than dots) please move the address details to the building and then delete the address node (since it is redundant). If there are multiple addresses in the same building, then don't put address/business details on the building and keep them as dots. Please ask if you have questions.

Thanks for adding this address. The name you added (James Woods) looks like it might be the name of a person? If so, OSM is not an appropriate place for private information about people, and please remove it or respond to this comment so it can be removed. If it is not a person's name, and there is a feature (presumably a forest) with the name "James Woods", then this feature needs more information to describe what type of thing it is, possibly "natual=wood" to say it is a forest. While I have your attention, could you please use descriptive comments for your changes? "Changes" doesn't tell anyone what happened. For this edit it could be something like "Added an address with private information not suitable for OSM" which would make it much easier to review. Please ask if you have questions.

Consider adding a comment on change 115313868 explaining why tmerc58 shouldn't do this again.

Thanks for responding to feedback and I'm glad you weren't discouraged. Mistakes are expected, keep making them! On this edit you added opening hours in a human readable way (which is nice, but...). The community has reached consensus and documented a machine readable format which is more friendly for software. I've updated this field to "Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Su 7:00-14:30; Sa 7:00-14:30,17:00-21:00" and I'm 95% sure that I did that correctly? More info at: opening_hours=*

Addresses at minimum have a street name and a house number. You've left off the house number for this building. If it doesn't have one, then it isn't an address and the other address tags should be removed.

The "addr:*" tags are for addresses. This is a road, not an address. I've removed the "addr:city" tag. If you want to say "this road is in the town Mount Vernon" that's already accomplished by there being a town boundary and this road being inside that. If you're trying to accomplish something else, let me know and maybe I can help.

Welcome to OSM and thanks for you edits. I'm reviewing a few of them and they look great. I hope you'll ask if you have questions (I might have answers). Some very minor feedback:
- You seem to be making one change per changeset. It's more normal to group together many changes that are in one area and related into a single change set. It's also easier to review that way.
- Adding "source=local knowledge" to elements is just clutter. Changeset comments are a better place to mention a source.
- Adding "oneway=no" to roads is just clutter.

FYI I've updated this to be "building=static_caravan" which isn't local vernacular but is the osm standard.

Hi, you removed the name "Northwood Drive" from the road but that seems wrong based on the addresses along the road and the streetsign at https://www.bing.com/maps?cp=43.372956~-70.474672&lvl=17&dir=268.036&style=x&v=2&sV=1. Plase put the name back or provide a reference for this street not being named Northood Drive.

Hi, you changed the name of this road from "Reid Lane" to "Wallace woods" but that seems wrong (based on the addresses along the road and the streetsign found at https://www.bing.com/maps?cp=43.367882~-70.474149&lvl=17&dir=211.397&style=x&v=2&sV=1)
Could you please change it back or provide a source showing the name "Wallace Woods".
