Hi, yawfle!
My name is Anna, and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. Thank you for paying attention to this. You are absolutely right, removing a mentioned segment could block traffic for cyclists.
In order to more reliably block unwanted routing at this intersection, let's inspect one of the following options:
1. We can add the tag motor_vehicle=no to the segment with barrier, that will block car routing;
2. Based on your knowledge that the cycle and emergency traffic is allowed, we can add a combination of tags to the node with planter: access=no + bicycle=yes + emergency=yes.
We will be glad to know your opinion on this matter.
Best regards,
Anna

Hi, CurlingMan13!

My name is Anna, and I'm Veranika's (vrynkevich_lyft) teammate. We are mappers on the OSM team at Lyft. Thank you for paying attention to our edits!

According to info from an official source indicated in the changeset comment, completion of the construction is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024. Our workflow is set up so that we are able to notice changes on high traffic roads in a timely manner. So most likely our automatic pipeline will detect active GPS tracks here. With enough evidence, our team will restore the necessary tags on the road.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your contribution!

Best regards,
Anna

Hi, jmarchon!

My name is Anna, and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. Thank you for paying attention to my edits!
In this case, I mostly relied on a dense network of Lyft GPS tracks collected in the last two weeks (you can see it here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FrdOi5To0kRIvMZe3Zaa35WVM0n_fHIr/view?usp=sharing). Also, I found a November article about the opening of Pearl Street at the intersection with 6th Avenue https://www.kezi.com/news/pedestrian-connection-on-pearl-street-opened-providing-foot-traffic-for-local-businesses/article_1b5a820e-6a96-11ed-890e-2732c2008e39.html. In addition, I paid attention to previous edits on the segment. The mapper Xanadu_Contractor clarified in the note tag that the road is drivable. Taking into account all these sources, I decided that the road is not pedestrian and changed its class.

Please let me know if you have any other doubts about the highway class. Thank you for your contribution!

Best regards,
Anna

Hi Michael,

All members of our team have OSM usernames ending in ''_lyft'. We suppose this may help identify that we are making changes on behalf of Lyft. Anyway, thank you for paying attention to this and your suggestion. We really appreciate it!

Hi, Discostu36!
My name is Anna, and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. In fact, we are periodically asked to clarify our sources. It was the main reason why we added more explanation to our OSM profiles. Unfortunately, taking into account the volume of edits, as for now it's difficult for us to organize the addition of such explanations to each of our changesets. Probably, the term “proprietary” is confusing. We hope that it would help if we change the term to "Lyft-owned street level imagery". Thank you for your feedback!

Hi Hedaja
My name is Anna, and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. You are right, while making edits, I didn't notice that I broke several relations. Thank you for pointing this out! I have removed some invalid turn restrictions, edited the relations that are still relevant and added new ones in the changeset changeset/127137108. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the broken relations have caused.

Hi, Arlo James Barnes
My name is Anna, and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. We aim to improve the map based on the most up-to-date data including our proprietary sources. Lyft’s proprietary sources are the additional information that Lyft creates during rides or purchases from other companies with the right to use it as evidence for the OSM edits. All of our sources are compliant with the OpenStreetMap rules. You can read more about all types of evidence that we use on GitHub page https://github.com/OSM-DCT-Lyft/US/blob/master/osmtrainingmaterialsfeatures/Proprietary%20sources.md

In this specific case we used proprietary aerial imagery from Nearmap. Here is the part for the discussed location https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GEbEje_0nPF9rGBkSt-DpM6Ff7c2s9Ez/view?usp=sharing.
For confirming geometry changes, we also used the official sources about the construction works in this area https://www.santafenm.gov/document_center/document/12336.

We are always open to discussion and ready to provide all the data we have to confirm our edits. Please, contact us, if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your contribution!

Hi, txemt
My name is Anna and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. Thank you for asking! Lanes tag was added to each road segment along the West Camp Wisdom Road from South State Highway 360 to the service road near Lake Ridge Parkway https://osmcha.org/changesets/113069734/. We usually add turn:lanes tags based on signs, road markings and traffic lights. In this changeset I have added turn:lanes tag on some segments using the newest street-view imageries: see segments near Magna Carta Boulevard way/997100477, Lynn Road way/997100484 and etc. Other road segments don’t have specific signs, so they were left without a turn:lanes tag. Please, contact us, if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your contribution!

Hi, MapsConnect

My name is Anna and I’m a mapper on the OSM team at Lyft. Many thanks for paying attention to this. At the time of editing, there wasn’t up-to-date background, so I decided to leave a secondary link on the map, marking it by a construction tag. However, now, using proprietary street-level imagery and aerial background, I can confirm that the link has already been demolished. The link was removed in the changeset: 116373738 (changeset/116373738). I hope this situation hasn't caused any serious inconvenience. Thank you for your contribution to the OSM! Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
