This follows moreover the guidline (addr:*=*#Where_to_add_the_address) that "the address tagging should be added to a particular node node sitting on the site outline or building outline (e.g. entrance, gate) [...] when an object has multiple addresses such as an apartment building with several entrances;" Best,

| 162887684 | 10 months ago | Hi DrayPrescot, Okay, I get the point. It looks like this is more of a problem with the Graphhopper router ignoring entrance points. Also, you can see in your example that the Graphhopper even ignores the sidewalk along Ernsthofer Wende. I therefore tested other routers and found that OSRM and openrouteservice correctly route to the nearby entrance (see below). I was therefore wondering if it wouldn't make more sense to correctly place entrance points that can even be combined with addresses (entrance=*#Entrances_and_addresses) In more complex situations where the path is not straight, it is of course perfectly fine to add a path. In my opinion, this would reduce the amount of work and make it much easier for people to find the entrance to more complex buildings. Perhaps the Graphhopper developers could even be contacted to solve this problem. Have a nice day,
..

| 162887684 | 10 months ago | Hi DrayPrescot, Thank you for pointing to the guidline for pedestrian navigation. My reading of the guidline is that "pedestrian navigation is particularly useful in complex areas". My understanding is that this is not the case for a short path (5-10m) between the sidewalk and the entrance of a private apartment building. Especially if the path does not add any information to the routing (e.g. information not already provided by the entrance node or the sidewalk line), it makes the map unnecessarily complex (visually and logically) and hard to maintain. Please note that I fully agree with mapping the access to public buildings with a more complex structure (e.g. shopping malls). I really hope this helps understand the motivation behind my changeset,

| 111440438 | about 4 years ago | Hallo Kiekin,

Happy tagging ;-)

| 57382423 | almost 8 years ago | Hallo Moritz,
