No, this change was not discussed. I made the change based on how similar roads in the US are tagged. I have seen several other disconnected freeways/bypasses tagged as motorway in the US, with many being much shorter than the western segment’s 15 mile length. I have never seen a 15-mile road that is built to Interstate standards tagged as a trunk. I also saw that these segments had always been listed as motorway until a recent edit changed them to trunk. With that being said, I will revert these back to trunk if you feel that this was an error.

Sorry about that; I opened it early because it usually takes a few days for changes to start showing up in rural areas like this. Would you mind reverting the revert when the road opens?

Hi, why did you change the speed limit here? I am local and the limit stays at 40 mph until exit 32. I will be reverting this change.

Hi whammo, this section of road is fully limited-access and has no ground-level pedestrian crossings, which is why I updated it to motorway. If there are any other criteria that are needed for a motorway, please let me know.
