Hi impiaaa, the area in question has been subject to a number of wildfires, the features drawn and tagged as "benches" are old logging road cuts and old fire trails that serve as access for firefighters. They may or may not connect to existing in-use roads and so they aren't "trails", but given the steep terrain are important in the context of an area with severe wildfire hazards. In our area the flat part of a road or trail cut is called the "bench cut". I couldn't find a better tag. They are simlar I guess to old railroad ways, not in use for the original purpose but a durable feature on the land.
