1) I am assuming that the orange markings were changed in this area. Or was this your suggestion of how to go around construction? (I am not criticizing. I am a believer of connecting the dots - of providing a viable alternative.)

2) The tag "colour=orange" remains on a lot of ways on the "old" route and is showing on the IHM map. Do you want to clean them up, or should I?

My mistake. The inference came from the IHM Legend which shows that a Vehicle Block must be barrier=block or motor_vehicle=no. The implication being that barrier=block precludes a vehicle from passing so no "motor_vehicle=no" is necessary. However, in IHM, "barrier=debris" by itself ALSO gives the Vehicle Block, so I inferred that barrier=debris is similar to barrier=block and precludes passage by car.

OK. My intention was to preclude passage by car. From what I understood, "motor_vehicle=no" was a built-in default of "debris".

You are correct! I made the fix. Thanks for catching that. But how did you catch it so fast? I only did it a few hours earlier? (The cave was NOT a point of interest in Israel Hiking Maps, so I tried to add a POI to the original cave, and I now see that I did not succeed.)

Three weeks ago, I fell and broke my left shoulder. I had surgery and the surgeon said that I will not be active for at least another two to three months. I will make checking that gate my first hike when I can.
