| 88264288 | Hi JaLooNZ, Thanks for reaching out, this situation does look to be a bit confusing. My edits in this changeset focused on removing the driveway tags off of residential roads. Based on OSM policy (service=driveway), driveway tags can only be used in conjunction with service roads. These roads were originally service but were changed to residential, which I think makes sense. The wiki states that driveways primarily provide access to a house, garage, carport, provides space for picking up/ dropping off, or leads to a loading dock (see “Usage" section of the linked wiki above). With this in mind, I would argue that the driveway tag better describes the smaller (sometimes gated) roads that can be seen in Esri Clarity and OpenStreetCam (https://openstreetcam.org/details/2724462/198/track-info) that lead to the individual residences. To me, residential makes more sense for these roads since they provide means of navigating this neighborhood rather than driveways for individual houses.
