There used to be No Bicycles signs on Brunton Ave <https://mapillary.com/app/?focus=photo&pKey=597913337944431>. I believe that applies until the next intersection (Punt Rd). Do you know if this has changed?

It is a left-in, left-out intersection. I reconnected the side roads, and added turn restrictions with bicycle exceptions.

Looks like this change disconnected Herbert St from Beavers Rd. Are you sure that general traffic can’t do left turns? I’ll pay more attention next time I go through, but from memory I think Herbert St should connect and there may be left-turn-only restrictions.

I think I intended this to interpolate the unit numbers (1/41–3/41), since the street numbers are the same. Do you think that’s too confusing or ambiguous?

Thanks, I fixed it

Thanks, I fixed it. Looks like it was a copy and paste error of mine.

Thankyou, that range was totally wrong. I have fixed it.

Thankyou, I have fixed it up. Obviously a bad copy and paste from the previous address row.

I use it so that OSM can find the addresses in the range. Before, searching for "475 High St, Preston" only brings up random segment of the road. This evening it comes up with a much closer location, even if not perfect. (I think it is the chemist on the corner, but haven't verified.)

osm.wiki/Addresses#Using_interpolation

In other cases I have surveyed the addresses at the end of each block, and done an interpolation between them. Much easier than, and almost as accurate as adding each address individually.

Could these crossings be legally used to access the Freeway Trail or path along Springvale from/to the opposite side of Springvale Rd? What about U turns?

High Rouleur, I think other diamond interchanges generally should not have motorway_links for the road crossings either, but I may be fighting a losing battle here. :) FWIW the wiki section I linked says "roads . . . which can also be used by non-motorway traffic, should be tagged as something less than motorway_link."

Bicycles are prohibited on the ramps further away from the road by the "No peds, bikes, tractors beyond this point" signs, e.g. https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=518667316564637
These signs do not apply to the Springvale Rd crossings.

I don't know this interchange in particular, but in general I think these kinds of crossings at the end of fwy ramps should be non-motorway links. Bikes are generally allowed on the roadway, even if not on foot crossings. And pedestrians are also generally allowed to cross. This is regardless of traffic lights. See highway=motorway_link#Link_roads_between_different_highways_types

I would extend bike access up the on/off ramps to meet the path drawn on the side of the road. Otherwise in this case bike routing can only get on the path via the driveway further south.

FYI there seems to be shared path signage at least at the other end: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=311743543670946

Also I think that bubble tap north of the roundabout has an old Capital City Trail logo on it with bikes linking in a circle, and the trial is not on a road reserve, so I would assume bikes would be permitted by default.

Agreed most of the trail from freeway to creek has signs, so highway=cycleway or bicycle=designated is appropriate. Mapillary has shared path signs for the trail section east of Jells Rd, and the section west of the substation driveway.

The short section from the substation to Sir Kenneth Luke Bvd is not designated by signs, but is the logical continuation for someone riding on the shared path. IMO it is not clear by the Vic road rules whether it is a "footpath" [road rules dictionary: one of its main uses is by peds] or "shared path" [rule 242 (2): one of its main uses is by bikes, scooters & peds]. So for this section highway=footway might be reasonable.

However the road crossings at Jells Rd appear to be "pedestrian crossings" (crossing=zebra) and "marked foot crossings" (crossing=traffic_signals) without bike lanterns, so these are definitely not bike crossings.

way/511924653/history indicates the bike tags were already there from version #2. I presume I just added the surface tag in this change (version #3). Normally I use bicycle=designated for shared use paths (ped + bike sign), so if you know this isn't a shared path, let's change it to highway=footway.
