Hello Jon,

I hope this message finds you well.

Could you please clarify the reasoning behind removing the information for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science from the building and integrating it into a new node? This change has resulted in a duplicate address and has caused some inconsistencies with the related tags.

In the OpenStreetMap community, it is typically preferred to use a single object to represent a single physical feature whenever possible. Nodes are generally employed when a building is not fully mapped or represented on the map. In this case, the modifications appear to impact data accuracy, especially given that the building has displayed its name for over 15 years.

I would appreciate your insights on this matter. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Matt (VLD170)

Upon further review of this changeset, I have determined that the edit to split the way was not necessary, as there are no indications that the road would change names at this location. I will proceed to address the issue by recombining the way accordingly. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Hi Mateusz,

A few reasons for splitting the road at a direction change are navigation and a better representation of the roads by improving the geometry. Additionally, It is very common for road names to change when the road has a large shift in cardinal direction.

Hello danctc,

VLD286 is no longer working on our team.

After looking into this change, the way that was removed is not visible in our available imageries. From what I am observing we may actually want to make way/1342823923 a oneway road. We then should update the area around node/12435628583 to remove the crossings for the old road.

If there is a more updated imagery that we should use please let me know. The most updated I could find is the ESRI World imagery which shows a few sidewalks and a cycleway where that turn would be. I would happily make the edits that I suggested above or you can go forward with your plan to revert the change. I will refrain from editing until I hear back from you.

Best regards,

Hello Andy,

It is correct that VLD 296 is no longer working on our team. Apologies for the delayed response. I believe this edit was made because the road has a significant direction change at the point that it was split. Here is the challenge link https://maproulette.org/browse/projects/52996. I will also mention that we have since stopped working on this check in the UK after receiving feedback from the community.

Best regards,
Matt

Sorry I meant surface=unpaved.

Hello Austinenoni,

Welcome to OSM! I noticed that you are putting highway=residential on areas that already have landuse tags.

For example way/733042314 and way/733042319

The highway=residential and surface=ground are tags for road ways. Please remove them as this is not how they are intended to be used. You may want to check out these pages from the wiki that show the difference in these tags landuse=residential and highway=residential

Hello dmich9,

I noticed that the name label for Yamba lake was moved when the relation (relation/4562393) was removed and now is only on way/1237112551. I wanted to reach out and ask if there is a plan to restore the name to the rest of the lake or perhaps combine these relations back together with the updated geometry?

Hello Russ,

I am looking at relations 1494278, 1691724, 1691722, 16917121 and 1697123. I was wondering if there was any reason that we could not combine them into a single relation. It seems that they all represent the same feature area with different inner members. I wanted to ask before editing in case I was missing some information.

Hello MxxCon,

Thank you for reaching out. I have removed the relation from the map and added the tags back onto the landuse polygons. I will keep this in mind moving forward.

I have made the correction. It was a copy error. Thanks.
