Several crossing nodes have been placed at the corners of intersections rather than directly at the points where the crossing intersects the road feature, as outlined in the OSM Wiki (highway=crossing). Could you please clarify the rationale behind adding the crossing nodes in this manner?

These tags are contradictory; according to the wiki, crossing=uncontrolled is intended for crossings that are marked but lack any crossing controls or signals (crossing=uncontrolled).

The methodology looks at nearby objects that exist on the map, history present on the object itself, an individual’s previous edits and many other sources through human review to try and make the best possible version of OSM available. As we are all human though, we welcome the feedback to improve our edits in the future.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In reference to the imagery used, we use street level imagery to confirm street names. In this instance our editor incorrectly adjusted the footway's name to that of a nearby road. Our editor has been informed of the incorrect edit and will be more thorough during research going forward.

Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. Going forward I will be mindful of merging existing building nodes with building polygons when the polygons are added.
