Hello Nicole,

Thank you for all your additions to OSM - it's good to see all these new buildings in Pretoria!

However, it is recommended to edit already existing objects instead of deleting them and creating them anew.

In addition I suggest that you make use of the "q" shortcut when editing with iD (to square the corners of a feature) so you get proper geometry and 90° angles for buildings (if applicable of course).

Just a hint for future mapping ;)

Cheers, and thanks again for your contributions!

Hi,
In some Southern African countries, an ERF number is used to identify a registered plot of land:

Hey Muhra,

Thank you very much for improving OSM by adding buildings!

However, there are several duplicates (from the very same changeset). See osm.org/#map=19/-25.74237/28.22033 => some buildings appear twice, with a slightly different outline, and different house numbers as well. Something must have gone wrong :)

In addition, it would be good if the outlines would be a bit nicer, and represent reality more. In iD you can select an area or outline and press "Q" (or right click and click "square").

Nevertheless, thanks for your work!

Cheers,
Trubalu

Forgive me my rather late answer. Thank you very much for looking into it, and resolving the issue - it's highly appreciated.

It seems like this import didn't check for already mapped buildings I've done a couple days before importing. My import was based on aerial imagery, and might therefore be less accurate than the import. What is the way forward? Should I ask an admin to revert my changesets done in this region?
