| 162768311 | about 2 months ago | Good day, I noticed that you added motor_vehicle=no on the streets here. This would mean that even residents of the neighbourhood are not allowed to drive there. A more suitable tagging would be access=private or motor_vehicle=private (the latter if pedestrians and bicycles are allowed to freely use the private roads). Also you deleted several street names (for example on way 218689526), I assume by accident? Could you please restore these? Best regards,

about 2 months ago | Thanks for your reply. When used together with route=ferry access tags indicate which modes of transport are allowed to use the ferry. Cars and motorcycles can't drive underwater but they can drive on and off the ship. Please have a look at the wiki page for this: route=ferry
about 2 months ago | Hello Eduardo. I'm curious what the intentions behind this changeset are. Did you recently survey this ferry route and found the existing access tags to be incorrect?
2 months ago | Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap. If you use the "add place" function it will be added to a community-built global data base. Please only add places like for example convenience stores and agrarian shops that really exist. For personal bookmark Organic Maps has a separate function, just press "Save" at the bottom of the screen.
2 months ago | Hey. It looks like you accidentally removed the building tag for some of the barangay halls. Also the government=yes tag does not seem to be meaningful as townhalls are government institutions by definition. The government=* tag is intended for use in combination with office=government but "yes" value would also not really contain any additional information. Keep up the awesome edits! 😊
2 months ago | Good day. What sources are you using to add access tags here and in various other recent edits? If you have local knowledge or if you're using ground-level imagery of these places please mention this in your changesets. Legal access=destination restrictions are almost non-existent in the Philippines. For public roads surface attributes are usually sufficient to discourage through-routing and in case of gated neighbourhoods the appropriate restricton is almost always access=private.
3 months ago | For Malungon-Tampakan Road revert to secondary seems fine as significant sections are still narrow and rough (surface=unpaved still needs to be restored). Surallah-Banga-Polomolok Road needs to be reviewed as well, afaik there are also some unfinished sections left which make primary classification questionable. As for Matanao-Columbio-Marbel Road I most recently changed it back to primary myself based on ground survey and local knowledge. Construction has recently been completed and this link is now both the shortest and fastest route from Davao Region to Marbel. Despite still being designated as a provincial road it's built to the same specifications as national highways and conversion has been requested by DPWH RO XI/XII for many years already.
3 months ago | Good morning. May I ask what source you used to map these bus stops? Are these just planned/proposed or are they already verifiable on the ground?
3 months ago | Good evening. Private information like names of residents should not be mapped in OSM. For more details see: osm.wiki/Mapping_private_information
3 months ago | Good morning. You have been asked many times not to modify road classifications if you are not willing to discuss your edits with the community (Last time here: osm.org/user_blocks/18680). As already explained, your changes cause an excessive density of tertiary and secondary roads that conflicts with local mapping conventions that are well-established and documented (osm.wiki/Philippines/Mapping_conventions/Roads/Classification). If you disagree with these conventions please explain why and start a discussion for example in the OSM PH telegram channel (https://t.me/OSMph) or in the OSM community forum (https://community.openstreetmap.org/).
3 months ago | Hello Alvouch and thank you for your awesome map edits. Currently this street has a name and an address tag (usually not needed for streets) with conflicting spelling. Which variant is correct, "S. Clapanao Street" or "S. Calapano Street"? Have a good day!
4 months ago | Good afternoon. As a source for the changeset you mention "local knowledge", but you also comment "from other sources". Which other sources are you referring to? This was pointed out to you before but the changeset comment should contain a short description of your edits, for example "improve road classifications", for more details see here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Regarding the classification changes that you made recently (especially upgrades from tertiary/secondary to primary), several experienced local mappers think that the current function and importance of these mostly provincial roads does not meet the criteria for primary classification (roads connecting major population centers, see: osm.wiki/Philippines/Mapping_conventions/Roads/Classification). For example afaik Matanao-Columbio still has a major ford near Sinapulan and is therefore for most cars not yet viable as a connection from Digos to Marbel/Tacurong. Although primary classification will probably be appropriate once bridge is built and concreting of remaining unpaved sections is finished. Another specific example that I mentioned to you before is the road from San Jose to Laak. This road is still unpaved and essentially all long distance traffic is using the nearby already finished Palavilla-Lasak Road. The more important road should have the higher classification even if it is not always the shortest route. Please don't repeatedly change classification of the same roads if you're not willing to respond to questions and discussions.
4 months ago | Good day Anye. Welcome to OSM and thank you for your edits. What exactly is Balay Amakan? There's probably an object category that would fit better than historic castle. Best regards, Timmy
5 months ago | Welcome to OSM and thanks for your edits! The tag landuse=farmland is intended for low growing crops like rice or corn. For areas mostly planted with coconuts you can use landuse=orchard + trees=coconut_palms, no need to add a descripton in the name tag. Also please make sure not to connect landuse to roads and rivers as they are independent features.
5 months ago | Good evening. Mega Paraw appears to be a tour agency and as such their route seem to be out of scope for road relations. If this is some sort of intermodal transport service open to the general public then a public transport relation might be more suitable?
6 months ago | Good evening and thank you for your awesome contributions around Lake Sebu! If a place or object undergoes a name change we can store the previous name in the old_name=* tag. This way the place node would still show up in search results if somebody is searching for Lemlunay. By the way, some addresses in the area use the old sitio name, should these be updated to addr:place=Sitio Be Afus?
6 months ago | Hi Kim. Welcome to OSM and thanks for your contributions. Please try to upload your edits in smaller batches to make it easier to review and comment. I noticed a few issues. For 202 Peaklane you added building attributes to the existing landuse outline and then added a new smaller construction landuse within. It seems like the inner outline should get the building attributes instead. Also name tag should only be used for actual names, please try to avoid using it for descriptions like for example "road expansion".
7 months ago | Good morning and thank you for these edits! Everything looks good now. Just one little question, which other map sources are you referring to? For example if it's a map from the city government it would be good to explicitly mention this as a source. Especially when there is no street name sign on the ground (for example Depita Road) other mappers appreciate it to know where the name comes from.
7 months ago | Welcome to OSM and thanks for your edits! I changed the research station from a node to an area and added amenity=college tags and some other additional details. The boundary is just approximate, could you check if any adjustments are needed?
7 months ago | Yes, fixed it now. Thanks for spotting this!
