Quite right thanks for letting me know. I don't currently know the exact location of the buoys which replace the lighthouse, or the Royal Sovereign Shoals themselves. If you know where they are relative to the lighthouse feel free to amend, or let me know, If not I will get round to fixing it when I can find out.

Yes, one is for scheduled monument , one is for Listed building. I have added its official name as a listed building, and corrected the opperator tag to Historic England.

Sorry just found your link where M279 LH refers to this route as not legally designated.

150534820 about 1 year ago

Thanks for that, As far as I can see it has no designation, except signage for a restricted byway. but as the application was for a bridleway, I used that instead. I've deleted that designation. My logic at the time was :
1. On the o/s map at Bing.com it is marked a a road called Long Lane.
2. It looks like a single carrageway track.
3. The reference M279 LH on maps.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/mycambs.aspx for this route, has no link, and refers to a different path 500m to the east, although it may be that details for this route are just not published.
4. The Cadastral Parcels do not cross it - like a road,
5. It looks like a byway of the sort locals hate as it will be misused as a race track.
6. Applications of this nature are often not resolved for many years by under budgeted councils.
For those reasons I have left it as a track, seasonal, or requiring a permit. If you think thats wrong, I am happy for you to change it.

Out of interest, It was simply that the point you were trying to disconnect had a relation of "No right turn" on it and relations often won't disconnect. Easiest to delete the point (which deletes the relation) and reinstate. cheers.

Thanks, messed up the path relation. Now fixed so this bit of Ouse Valley Way is on public footpath (except where official right of way goes through water)

Hi Nice to hear from another mapper. Yep, Fits every definition of a "detention basin", on a city scale. Part of the Saffron Brook flood scheme of the 1970s, which they are currently re greening, by "naturalising" the Wash Brook, which was basically a concrete drain for run off from housing estates, which carried typhoid in the early 20th centuary.

Hi Marc. I have no idea how I got "no name" in my head probably got confused with "not:name" but that's meaningless too. Have changed them now. Cheers Paul

It's definitely not tidal (although the counter drain parallell a few miles down stream is). The issue is how you define intermittent. The Erith Sluice Gates are opened and closed automatically. http://www.ousewashes.info/sluices/earith-sluice.htm#sluice
This will flood the Ouse Washes, or, maintain minimum levels in the main river(Old West>New Bedford), so there are periods when practically no water enters the Old Bedford . It's constructed with solid concrete base and sides, so not a major environmental issue if it dries out. Having said that, I haven't seen it totally dry for a few years so I am happy either way.
The navigable New Bedford River becomes the Great Ouse and is tidal to a mile or so upstream of Earith at Brownshill Staunch.

If you want to look at the Mapbox satalite you can make your own mind up. Most is going to be residential development, some is used for storage. But The US airforce will have a joint inteligence and communications command somewhere there. It was marked as a live runway, although it officially closed a number of years ago. Until we see properly what is happening, I don't see I can mark it as anything else. I can't mark it as razed as I do not know if a section will remain.
