Hey Valaise,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
At 230th St, the bike route goes up on the sidewalk a bit before the intersection on both sides. It follows the pedestrian crossings via a dogleg on a new refuge island in the middle of the intersection.
Check out p 17 of this pdf for details: https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/downloads/pdf/bailey-ave-van-cortlandt-park-s-w225-st.pdf
Here is the street-level imagery I was looking at from halfway through implementation in Sept 2025 (so cars are parked in the bike lane on both sides): https://roadview.planninglabs.nyc/view/-73.9039671/40.8763321
There are additional photos (showing both sides of the intersection (though not really in the middle) in this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NYCbike/comments/1pe1oq6/i_have_a_good_feeling_about_this/

Hey MxxCon,
I think this stretch was just repaved. You really think smoothness should be good, not excellent?

Exclusively for bikes. It is very similar to way/1217875370 (except is has a concrete island instead of a painted one).

no problem at all. always happy to respond. I surveyed it on Jan 2, 2023. There are signs and sidewalk markings at the ends of the blocks, but cars blocking it is a big problem. Here are some pictures I took: https://imgur.com/a/edgewater-shared-use-path-B91n1PY

Hi pid1,
Crescent only has a two way protected bike lane from the Queensboro Bridge to Hoyt Ave. From Hoyt Ave to 20th Ave, it's unprotected one way southbound.

Sure thing. Unhappy to have to make the changes, but don't want people thinking this segment is still protected.

Update Henry Hudson Trail

Hi kmarkish_lyft,

Your arial imagery is out of date. Hunts Pt Ave no longer intersects with Halleck St. All cars must turn right on East Bay. I'm reverting back to my edit which I personally surveyed this fall.

The LaSalle Ave cycle path should connect to the street grid at each end for proper bike routing.

Hi UrbanUnPlanner,

Southwalk was already mapped as its own thing. See way/46593266 It's mapped as currently closed for construction, which I think is correct, and I understand that the plan is for it to be pedestrian only when it re-opens with all bikes on the northwalk. Let me know if you think differently, otherwise way/1308523835 should be removed.

Watch out with street complete that you don't by accident make left side bike paths contra-flow ("cycleway:left:oneway=-1")

Yup, there were signs up when I went

Hi kguenther24, While the bike pavements markings just point west-bound, posted signs make it clear that bikes can go two ways across the Adams St median at Johnson St/Tech Pl. I'm going to update the oneway info.
Best, Brandon

Jay, Could you take a look at this changeset: changeset/148798786
It added this way: way/1263634341
but I think it is based on outdated imagery.

Thanks, Brandon

Correct, it was changed to one lane in the last two months when the block of Schermerhorn to the west was converted to one way east bound.

I understand your concern with proposed features in general. I think that fact that the CyclOSM and Cycle Map layers on the OSM home page render proposed bike routes (as distinguished from existing) represents some consensus that they are useful (or at least acceptable) to map. (Waymarked trails also correctly parses the state=proposed tag.) But I take a conservative approach to doing so in NYC and only map them once DOT (or Parks/DDC/EDC) publicly present a specific route that they plan to implement. If multiple route options are under consideration (or multiple plans that might or might not include bike infra), I don't map that until one specific plan is decided on. For example, DOT has been doing workshops getting feedback on several options for Harlem River Greenway routes, and I haven't mapped any of them since they haven't announced which one they are moving forward with. https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/downloads/pdf/harlem-river-greenway-bronx-route-alternatives-north-section-mar2024.pdf And I do update the routes if the proposals are updated, and then based on construction and completion.

Yes 100%. Not having the "state=proposed" tag in the Ave I, J, L, and M relations was a mistake on my part. Thanks for pointing it out. I fixed it here changeset/148921917 I just put "proposed" in the name of the Ave I relation as it's an extension of the existing Ave I route so I wanted to distinguish between the two relations, but I am open to your thoughts if that rubs you the wrong way.

This segment is done. Construction has moved to the west side of the park. As of 1/27/24, the construction closure starts about at node/608494060 and goes clockwise from there. Not sure what the northern end is. I entered the park at the north corner (by node/608494042). There were no signs of construction around there. It was all open, and I was able to bike clockwise until node/608494060.
