I have been mapping local golf courses. This may seem like micro-mapping but it helps at a macro level to distinquish visually the plethora of courses in our area.
Took a hike with the family in Corbett’s Glen. I captured the rest of Perimeter Trail with my GPS. I uploaded the traces and added to the map.
I used to use a complicated process to get the points off my GPS using the vendor’s software. Now I just put the SD card in a reader and get the data directly.
Added the new street Galante Circle to the map. I also fixed up Jewelberry and Guygrace to fix a reported bug.
Yesterday I used my GPS (a Delorme PN-40) to create a track for an un-recorded street. I uploaded it and edited in Potlach. I probably used more steps than necessary but I completed the task.
I can now foresee that my future lunch times are going to be eaten up with collecting data. However, like Geocaching, it gets me out and gives a little exercise.
