The route from Parker's Piece via Gresham Road, the Carter Bridge and on down to the Tins was branded with that name back in about 1990 when the City put in a bid to build that bridge.

I don't recall it ever being labelled as such on the streets. A couple of years ago the timing of traffic signals at the junction of Lyndewode / Tenison / St Barnabas were reviewed and I got a bit excited about the route being weakened for cycling which is probably when I made the change.
