about 1 month ago | I used Mitchell County's GIS website for the street addresses in that area. It shows Huntdale Rd following the railroad tracks until it crosses them at Peterson. At that point the street name changes to Sams Branch Rd. NCDOT website shows the same thing. I know it gets confusing when Yancey County has another Huntdale Rd going a completely different route.
almost 2 years ago | Thank you for the detailed explanation. In the future, I'll start using the unsigned_ref tag for SR #'s. It may take a while before I get the other roads in compliance. Luckily I think I only have to do Madison County and a few of the neighboring counties.
almost 2 years ago | Thank you for your suggestion. In Madison County, NC that state road numbers are displayed on the street signs although the letters are a little bit smaller than the ones used in the street name (about 1/2 the size). Is the visibility of the letters the issue here or is it something else. I went ahead and made the change you suggested for the old section of US 23. Now I'm wondering if I need to do all the other state roads as well. The source I used for the addresses is Madison County's GIS website.
over 6 years ago | Be careful when converting streams to intermittent ones. The NHD stream type is not always accurate. I noticed some of the larger streams in my area that flow all year long, are now showing up as intermittent. Not sure, but maybe if you only modified the unnamed streams (which are typical intermittent), the outcome might be better. Just a thought.
over 6 years ago | I know what you mean. There's a lot of streams that didn't import very well into OSM. Also some of them don't exist anymore. They've either been covered up by a land developer or maybe sent down a storm water pipe. If it were me, I would probably realign the stream, so it's at least off the road and on the greener (more vegetated/wetter) side. Unless you know for certain the creek is gone, I wouldn't delete it. I'm going through all the KeepRight issues right now for Madison, Yancey & Buncombe counties, trying to fix them. If there's a particular stream or road that you want help with, let me know. I would be glad to assist. Thanks!
over 6 years ago | FYI: Change had to be reverted, since it removed most of the streams around the Weaverville area.

over 6 years ago | Hello again KrispyAlmighty. I drove by this area today, but did not see a Pohlman Park or Pohlman Lane. Are you sure you have the right location?
over 6 years ago | This change needs to be reversed as well. Numerous creeks are now missing around the Weaverville area.
over 6 years ago | Hello KrispyAlmight. I was wondering if you could undo this change. Looks like it removed all the streams around the Weaverville area.
